Was hoping this game would be less open world, but it's still a buy for me. The last "map barf" game I played was Far Cry 4, so I can see Jeff & Ben not getting very excited for this, having to cover so many.

Also I honestly just want to support Bethesda's single player shooter effort, even if they don't all hit me like Doom or Wolfenstein.

Additionally, at the risk of sounding elitist, I feel like the modern Bethesda published shooter efffort is really hamstrung on consoles. I feel like they all really shine the more you lean into the movement / precision afforded on mouse & keyboard.

While it's obviously quite different, if you found this interesting and have never played with tools like Unreal or Unity, you might consider giving one a download. While they have obviously done a phenomenal job with this toolset, you'd be surprised how easy those actual engines are to pick up and use. Plus, you can use a mouse and keyboard :)

I appreciate the vid, but had to turn it off after like 5 minutes. For some reason, watching VR be janky gives _me_ motion sickness when watching, even though I've never had any trouble when playing. Weird!

Let's face it, Titanfall was a bit of a money pit for Respawn. While people seemed to love it (myself included) it just didn't perform that well. That said, Respawn made a smart choice with this game because they knew they could make money if they applied all of their knowledge to the hot new thing in the industry. The way I look at it, this game could create enough revenue to allow Respawn to make the Titanfall 3 everyone here seems to want without as much consequence.

This is spot on. I'm a huge fan of the Titanfall campaigns, but the multiplayer didn't catch on in the way it needed to, especially from EA's perspective of "funding the Call of Duty guy(s)". This was a pragmatic business decision, and I'm finding it really fun so far. I personally think that this is not something Respawn decided to do instead of TF3, but perhaps the only game they were given the funding to make at all.

This looks like it was conceived around the time Destiny 1 was picking up steam. If this is "another one of those", Bioware might be in trouble.

The flying and stuff looks really fun - I'd be interested in a single player structured game with these type of mechanics, but feel no need for another loot game in my life.

I don't normally do this, but what makes Hitman such a baffling concept to understand? Especially in VS mode Brad just domed a guy right next to a guard and was confused why he didn't get any points. Certainly it is different than regular hitman, but the rules of single & multiplayer are both incredibly straightforward. I just can't understand the confusion that always springs up.
