A couple standouts on my ps3:

-Renegade Ops

-Tokyo jungle

-Resident evil code veronica x (HD?) is still the most high res version available if im not mistaken. And has some dynamic lights added and stuff. Its not like the one on ps4.

-The last guy

-Dark mist

-Battlefield 1943 is still online and active on ps3!

-Far cry 3 blood dragon

-Both bionic commando rearmed games. The first is the best but second one is fun too if it isnt too expensive.

-Shank 1+2

-Outland

-Hard corps: uprising

-Tales from space: about a blob & blobs attack

-Stacking

-Shatter

-Virtual-On hd (Japan psn store)

-Raystorm hd (Japan psn store)

But it might be worth being aware of "the c-bomb" of the ps3 if you're planning to still purchase games for it online. if anyone doesnt know what it is: Hikikomori media on youtube has a couple great videos on the subject.

And saw someone mentioning demon souls not being able to be played online anymore...thats not entirely true. You only have to input a specific dns adress in your ps3 network setting and you can still play online through a fanmade server.

Same goes for a bunch of different games, last I checked there was a "beta" to get warhawk up and running again in that way as well. Warhawk was so good. Some of the best multiplayer fun ive had.

@not_a_bumblebee: Did you get the woody one? I built a woody and buzz for a diorama like thing I made a year ago for a friend of mine. Both are super nice kits! Both nice to play around with and very breezy to build. And you can pretty easily put a magnet in woodys head+hat.

But toy story aint even the craziest anymore, did you check out the "new" modelkits from bandai of the psx, sega saturn and cup noodles? Honestly, despite the subject matter being very silly for a modelkit, from a manufacturing/design point of view they are pretty impressive kits xD

Seems like this thread pretty much died when austin left, such a shame, wish id found it sooner :'). Lets see if I can help in getting it more active haha. Building modelkits has overtaken videogames as my main hobby for the past 2-3 years now and even if Ive considerably slowed down since I started, I do still usualy build a couple kits a month so I should have plenty to converse about/share :)

Good to see a fellow "city-pop"/"new music" fan in here haha :D will watch the others as well :P

Gotta drop a shoutout to the youtube channel of "sinclair lore", whenevr I feel bad I listen to those 2 chuckleheads on there talking about souls games. And really the lore itself is fine but its really just mostly the hilarious chemistry between "richie"(aka JSF jerks sans frontieres) and sin. That said some of their better podcast they recorded were with other members of the community like aesiraestethics, loki or redgrave. Highly reccomend if you just want something fun to listen to. Probably wont be for everyone though :P stay away if youre looking for efficiently transmitted souls lore talk haha. They take ages to get through any discussion but thats pretty much the charm

For pleasantness ill just drop this here <3

@asylumrunner: Reading this made me go: "huh is patlabor 2 older than gits?..." looked it up and holy hell indeed, I totally thought patlabor 2 was an early 2000s movie from after gits ....wow, makes it even more impressive. (I normally have all my anime sorted by decade so I always am aware of its context within the larger history of the medium...with the exception of mamoru oshiis stuff, that has its own dedicated folder but no dates haha)

I definitely agree its more relevant nowadays then gits would be. It really is an amazing movie, watched all the patlabors a couple month back after not having seen em in 10 years or something and 2 is definitely the one that stands out the most.

But really, all of mamoru oshii's directed animated movies are pretty much amazing imo.

(some of his life action stuff...less so :'D)

I also saw someone implying people should skip patlabor 3....nooo, its super fun xD its not like its a good patlabor movie at all or anything but its like a super weird mech/mystery/kaiju thing, kinda dumb and really fun xD Just dont expect ANY of the things that make patlabor good and your good x') I maaaybe enjoyed it more than patlabor 1 even if its not "as good". (but maybe that has more to do with my inexperience with any kaiju stuff besides shin-godzilla, which I first watched this year and absolutely adored. I always assumed Kaiju stuff to be super lame before that but I suspect I might actually have what it takes to enjoy the genre very much xD)

Not my favorite but I recently saw "your name" and maaaaan that is a good-ass fucking movie. Didnt expect too much from it but was pretty impressed by everything from the way the story was told to the visuals.

Not sure what would be my favorite, everything named here I loved, cowboy bebop movie, akira, girl who went through time. spirited away, mononoke, metropolis, ghost in the shell, but I wouldnt be able to choose a favorite. Ive probably watched ghost in the shell 2 the most times. Paprika never really did anything for me, I barely remember anything from it despite having seen it 2 times and being super into lucid dreaming at the time.

Oh right I LOVED sky crawlers! been a while since ive seen it though. (although, from my memory, like gits2 its like 90% phylosophical rambling and 10% actual stuff happening so its not gonna be for everyone)

EDIT: OH FUCK I DO HAVE A FAVORITE!, cant believe I forgot it haha.

Its Jin-Roh the wolf brigade. Oof such a beautiful movie. Watched it countless times. Probably not "the best" in most of the things its doing or even that "enjoyable" to watch but man I dunno that movie just got to me in a special way.

This question is way too hard xD theres sooo many of em.

SOME of em in no particular order:

-Dom

-z'gok (specifically the real grade modelkit version.)

-Guntank (ESPECIALY the origins version which was a prototype or something? but both are awesome, one in a genuinely cool way and the other in a doofy cool 80s robot way xD)

-GP0every one of them(so gp01-04 and the gerbera tetra)

-Anything from advance of zeta <3 (normaly dont enjoy overdesigned mechs but maaaan somehow these just all do it for me despite how insane they get)

-Both the full armor zaku and gundam from gundam thunderbolt (I guess I do like more overdesigned ms'es but im particular about it xD? )

-kampfer

-ReZEL Type-C

-geara doga

- Zaku II kai

-gouf custom

-moon gundam

-Turn A and Turn X (special mentions to the sound design of the Turn X in the anime, It really sounds like a frightening, violent and alien machine)

-more but I should stop :') these are just the first that came to mind. so yeah, no clear favorite in the slightest xD I do clearly prefer Uc stuff in general but Im not above liking some designs from the other series either (love the crossbone or f91 too for example) And who knows it might change, ive only gotten back into gundam 2 years back after having loved gundam wing 18 years ago but for some reason though i disliked all mecha anime besides it. :P Turns out I dont, Its just that I didnt like most of the stuff that was new/popular when I was younger haha.
