I had the chance to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 this past Friday on the Xbox 360. This was the first 360 game I had played in a long time so it took me a few missions to familiarize myself with the controls and aiming. I started at noon and finished around 6pm. I knew the game was short compared to other FPS', but I would have thought it would be longer than it is. But, the game is mainly centered around its online component which from a very quick look has been moderately improved.

Many of the missions on single player were quite fun, but began to feel repetitive after 3-4 hours. It was the story that made up for the repetitiveness and while some events are outlandish, it made for an interesting experience. Many of the twists and turns I did not see coming, granted, much of the story I missed as my friend and I were talking throughout the game.

The gameplay was everything I have come to expect from the Call of Duty series; fast paced, insurmountable odds, and a feeling of tension after playing. The intensity of the missions where you are being hit from multiple sides, no where to run, and there are explosions all around make for a truly exciting experience. However, getting hit from all sides and not seeing where it is coming from is annoying and over time can make one truly angry.

I'll have a review up sometime, the next two weeks are going to be hectic thanks to exams.

I've been playing Dragon Age: Origins steadily over the past week or so, and it is quite good. My expectations were rather low going in, due to not having read anything about the game for an entire year, and thus far it is one of the better games I've ever played. The storyline is undeniably epic, the characters likeable and dynamic and combat a mixture of MMO's and hack and slash RPG's.

It is a definite must have for all RPG lovers, and hell, even if you don't play many RPG's I think you'd like this game. It does have its flaws however, notably, the randomness of combat encounter difficulties. You can be progressing quite nicely thorough the game destroying all foes standing in your way and then come upon a random group of wolves or bandits who vastly outnumber you and prove difficult to defeat.

I do not fault the game for this however, it's more like a problem with my focus or complacency upon entering the battle, meaning I become to comfortable and forget I actually have to micromanage my characters if I plan on surviving more than a few moments.

Continuing with the RPG theme, I reinstalled The Witcher today and hope to start playing sometime tomorrow after Thanksgiving dinner, if I manage to stay awake that is. Every time I have started the Witcher I enjoyed it, but never finished the game due to school or other notable distractions. I intend to finish it this time as my Christmas vacation starts the 10th of December and I will have plenty of time to play games until school starts back the 4th of January.

That's the plan at least, I doubt it will go as well as I imagine.

Same here.  I have never used any anti-virus on my computer and everything runs fine and just as quick as the day I bought the computer.

Nothing that isn't free somewhere else.  Sure there is the marketplace but all other consoles have a similar function.

I'm not sure where the saying came from or even if its a common saying.  Yes, I do live on the East Coast.
