I was really hoping to see something from Crackdown but I think they announced they won't be there. Disappointing. I loved the original Crackdown.

I'd like to hear more from Capcom on Deep Down and maybe we'll find out what you actually do in No Man's Sky?

I'll be at work, so I'll watch the GB archives.

This. I'll be able to catch Bethesda live on Sunday and then the Sony presser (and maybe part of Ubisoft) live on Monday because I'm on the East Coast.

I was thinking about this earlier: Why aren't these press conferences on the weekend? Isn't the entire point to generate buzz? Wouldn't that be better achieved if they occurred while the lion share of consumers were actually available to watch? This seems incredibly obvious to me. Am I missing something? The only reason I can see is that the industry doesn't want to work on a weekend, but I think that excuse is super lame.

I think you have to bear in mind what E3 actually is. It's work/business and that normally happens on working days.

E3 is an industry event where publishers, game developers, retail, distribution etc. all plan for the year ahead. All the stakeholders, game devs showing their games to prospective publishers, game journalists reporting on the upcoming titles, publishers doing deals with distribution and retail etc. It's not really for the fans/gamers at all - that's just an offshoot of it's primary purpose.

There will also be an unwritten rule that if you are a repeat offender of the refund system you will be less likely to obtain subsequent refund over time. i.e. abuse of the system.

Does the refund go back to your bank or into Steam credit?

Aw, it's going to be another one of those E3s where the companies are going to announce most of the cool stuff before the show eh?

Still XCom 2? Sign me UP!

When was the last good silent hill game anyway? The gaming industry is hard for middle tier games as it is, so i'm not surprised a struggling?* company wouldn't take a risk on a game that probably would cost a shit load to make just to pay off del toro not to mention development costs.

And there is no guarantee they would sell any ip, you wish them to fail you may never see silent hill, mgs, castlevania again

That's the point though. Silent Hill has been a joke since 2 but this collaboration promised something new with a genuine creepy atmosphere which is why it's such a disappointment that Konami, for whatever reason, has decided to pull the plug on this and continue to release their normal crap Silent Hill games.

PT was nothing like what they were working on though, the final game was never going to be first person, not with a celebrity attached to playing the lead. You never know it might have been just garbage too.

Still, in a world with so many mee-too FPS games this would have been a breath of fresh air, especially for a fan of the horror genre like myself. I mean, BLOPS3, Halo 5 and Battlefront all release this year just weeks apart. The industry needs to grow up.

Makes me very sad that something unique like this, which captured a lot of gamers' attention/imagination has been axed and something like Black Ops 3, the same but now with robot crap is a big thing.

As a fan of the horror genre it's bad news today.

"which actually creates more realistic-feeling chord shapes with your left hand"

The only chord you could get close to would be an F fifth and maybe a E5.

It's more like they are pushing the sale of plastic guitars again. If Rockband 4 allow you to play with existing plastic guitars then they will win.

My favourite comments have to be the "Remember Kinect" comments because I do remember Kinect. I remember Kinect as being a MASSIVE source of entertainment in my household that continues to deliver (primarily via Dance Central and H.A.T.) and as a massive success for for Microsoft. So everytime I read "remember Kinect" I am only reminded of all the people who continue to refuse to even attempt to train themselves in new forms of UI/UX.

Too many people consider being faithful to an input device as a strength or virtue, when the inability to adapt is in fact a weakness.

Let's also not forget, fastest selling electronic device of all time...

Remember they removed the Kinect from the Xbox One bundle not because people didn't want one, but that people weren't prepared to pay £100 more for a new console. I really wish Microsoft took the hit on that one and kept the bundled in Kinect and just reduced the price. The only way we are going to perfect new forms of input device is by saturating the market with them, thereby ensuring their continued development. So by forcing Microsoft's hand to remove the Kinect, everybody loses, as motion tracking and voice recognition take a back seat and will take decades longer to perfect.
