Just bought a PS2, need some opinions and suggestions :)

Hey everyone I just bought a PS2 off of Kijiji and I need a few of your honest opinions if the deal I got was pretty good.  For $40 I got  a Slim, Silver PS2 with 1 controller and all the cords.  Opinions?

Now with that out of the way I would really appreciate it if some people suggested some games that are fun to play on the PS2.  I would buy both PS1 or PS2 so anything you find fun or think I would like would be great to hear from you, hehe.  I'm really into RPG's and FPS games.  I've beat a few Final fantasy 's and other RPG;s for the PS1 and 2 and have played a few FPS games for the PS2 like killzone.  I'm also into Strategy games so my mind is pretty open to anything.

I'd really appreciate some suggestionds, hehe.

Here is a list of the games that have caught my attention so far:

Persona 3
Persona 4
Devil May Cry 1 & 2 & 3
Mercenaries
Killzone
Okami
Red Faction
Champions of Norrath
God of War series
Bully
ICO
Shadow of the Colossus
God Hand
Radiata Stories
Tales of the Abyss
Tales of the legendia
Shadow Hearts 1 and 2
Time Splitters 2
Onimusha Series
Disgaea 1 & 2
Xenosaga Trilogy
ys - The Ark of Napishtim
Rogue Galaxy
Jade Cocoon series
Koudelka
Parasite Eve 1 & 2

That is the list so far.  I hope it's a good list so far and I wish to add on to it so please feel free to keep suggesting games, hehe.  Any genre would be fine as long as it's a good game.  I haven't added some games to the list because:

Metal Gear Solid series (Not convinced)
Jak and Daxter Series (Not convinced)
Ratchet and Clank Series (Not convinced)
Kingdom hearts 1 and 2 (Beat it)
Star wars battlefront (I own #2)
GTA Games (Played them all and have IV)
Star Ocean (Played the third one.  I liked it but wouldn't buy it)
Final Fantasy XII (Had it.  Got to the last boss and sold it. :()
Vagrant Story (Beat it)
Resident Evil series (Played most of them and beat half of them)

Dragon age: Origins...#1

I've seen Dragon age origins before but most of it was cinematic trailers.  I enjoyed those but wasn't sure if the gameplay would support how the videos looked.  Today I saw the newly posted trailer compilation and this game just reached numero uno on my list of wanted games.  The battles look magnificent and the storyline looks like it will hold up.  Who am I kidding, any game made by Bioware has a good storyline.. Am I right or am i right?

What do you think about this game?  Any information I should know about it?

I want to hear it all.

The fun in destruction..

I have never had this much fun destroying things in any video game.  If you don't know what game I'm talking about I suggest you read this thoroughly because Red Faction: Guerilla has got to be one of the most innovative games this year.

Red faction came out last Tuesday in Canada and I ran and got it a couple days later (Thursday) for $78.  Yes I do think that was a little too much money for a video game but fortunatley the game is really good and will help me get through the Summer when playing on my 360.  Red faction can easily become addicting when smashing literally anything you want comes to mind.  Knock a building over and watch it collide into another one or stand on the 5th floor of a building while it slowly starts to collapse.  Oh the possibilities!

Not only can you use a sledgehammer to knock down the support of a variety of different structures but you can use variety...yes VARIETY, hehe. If I was asked to choose one method of destroying stuff I would ponder that question forever.  Upgrade your rocket launcher to shoot multi-missiles and blow up (or down) the buildings.  Go full speed in a gigantic truck and smash through (literally!) the building.  Set charges on the support of bridges or a wide variety of other buildings and watch it collapse.  I can go on for ever but I will stop here, hehe.

In Red Faction there are a variety of different "modes" of gameplay you can choose to destroy things.  For example, there is a mode called Wrecking Crew that was created for the sole purpose of destroying things.  Of course Wrecking Crew has it's own game types that you must follow but aim for each game type is literally cause as much damage as you can.  Wrecking Crew can also be recognized as a local multiplayer game mode but the same controller needs to be used.

If Wrecking Crew doesn't float your boat then take the fight online and fight through dozens of different maps with the same destruction and more.  In multiplayer your given a variety of backpacks to choose from to smash buildings or your opponent....how fun!  There is actually a game mode designed for destroying the opposing team's structures called Siege which is my favourite game type right now, hehe.

Well this is starting to sound more like a review so I'm going to end this hear and tell you all  that Red Faction is definatley a game worth getting.  For those of you who have the game what do you think about it so far?  Have you beat it?  Whats your favourite thing other than destroying everything, hehe.  What about those who don't have it.  Do you have any second thoughts or are still not sure wether you should get the game.  Speak your mind, hehe.

My top 10 E3 games!

This is my top ten list of E3 games this year. Before I go on with it though, I just want to say that this year was a good year when it came down to the games being shown. We got all kinds of games for every console which is always good, haha. Anyway here I go.

10.The Origami Killer - I only have an Xbox 360 but this game looked way to good to keep offmy list. Hopefully I will get the chance to play it in the future.

9. Fallout 3 DLC: Point Lookout - This would have been higher in the list if it were a complete game but I am still very excited to get my hands on this. Especially after looking at that trailer!

8. Dragon Age: Origins - I don't know too much about this game but I am finding this game to be a little more amazing everytime I look back at it. It's also made by Bioware so the story is going to be fantastic, hah.

7. Borderlands - I am not too happy with the cell shading change but the screenshots did not also mak me turn the other way. I will definatley end up playing this game and I'm also excited to see what kind of creatures can rip uphal my face as well, hah.

6. Mafia II - I've always been fascinated with the Mafia and this game shows me the style of it all first hand. The story also looks really good so hopefully I'll be shanking some people once this game comes out.

5. APB - An Xbox MMO is already enough for me but when you combine GTA with it what else can you ask. You can customize your character in this game to the eyebrow and thegameplay looks solid in my opinion. I can't wait to hear more about this game.

4. Left 4 Dead 2 - Although I would have rather got news of new DLC for L4D I thought the new one has enough things in it that made it on this list. Multiple pathways, changing environment, new special infected, melee weapons, over 20 new weapons, 5 campaigns, new multiplayer gamemode, and so much more has made me change my mind and place this game on #4

3. Alpha Protocol - I love games that give you choices. Alpha Protocol looks like a fantastic game with endless possibilities that will give lots of replay value. You can also customize your character as much as you want which is a big plus. The gameplay and fighting style also looks fantastic and makes me want to go bond.

2. The Saboteur - One of few 18+ games I've seen in the last couple years. Not only is it based on theage of Nazisbut the gameplay looks fantastic. I really like the idea of colour coming back once the Nazi oppression in the area has been cleared.

1. Mass Effect 2 - After playing Mass Effect 1 I fell in love. I've wanted the 2nd Mass Effect in the trilogy to be released for such a long time and now I finally got my wish, haha. Mass Effect 2 brings everything the first game brought and more. You can even transfer the "Plot line" you developed in the first game to the second which is awesome in my opinion.

My least favourite thing about E3

My least favourite thing on E3 is the amount of talking done by some of the developers.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy listening to the developers talk about their game but when they go on for about 45 min to an hour; ugh.  A good example would be the one guy who talked about Avatar on the Ubisoft conference.  Even though Avatar sounds like an interesting game I would have really liked him to show something other than go on and on about what he invisions his game to be like in the future.

This year didn't have much talking other than a couple moments but overall E3 09 is areally big improvement to the last E3.
