@Commisar123: There's a lot of nostalgia and fan service built into this that you'll miss by not being a fan of the past games. But as someone who's played it several times (PAX Prime 2010 and PAX East 2011), I think it's good enough for any fighting game fan to enjoy it.
Download the demo if you're on PS3. I'm sure there'll be one soon for Xbox if not.
@Sreya: True. There was a clamoring to get Tremor into Armageddon, but he didn't make it there either. I don't know if they will ever acknowledge his existence though, since Boon didn't work on MKSF at all.
Skarlett is only sort of a new character. She's one of those mythical rumored characters from the MK2 days. It's cool that they're making her a reality now. Now if they were to include Nimbus Terrafaux, we'd be complete.
