I've lived in NE for years, all my friends are Pats fans, and I love busting balls. Pats are easily my most hated team.
When they passed on Welker I said this would happen (he's basically the one Pat I've liked for a while). I've been saying all their receivers were injury prone (Amendola, Edelman, Gronk, Hernandez--- which went a diff way obviously) but I didn't think it would fall apart this soon.
And old Bill the genius can't draft a WR to save his life.
My friend today was saying "Oh well we will waltz through the division"... ha... some waltz so far.
Dude, I know how you feel. I've lived in NE for most of my life and the Patriots are my most despised NFL team. I'm a Dolphins fan and right now, I'm feeling good about my team this year after that win against a solid Colts team. Hopefully the fish crush New England this year and from the looks of things, they might have a shot.
I actually don't think Angry Joe is that bad. Don't get me wrong, his comedy is terrible and I usually skip his sketches. But I'm probably in the minority for respecting the guy for making thorough game reviews. 43 minutes seems a bit much and the way he formatted it wasn't great, but at least he's willing to outline as much detail about his playing experience as he can. And if there is anything we and Joe should agree with, replacing pre-fight speeches to motivate the troops with two-liner speeches is crappy. The speeches in Rome I was one of the reasons I loved the original so much! (Its a small touch as Joe pointed out, I know, but c'mon)
I talk to myself, but never in front of anyone. I'll talk to myself whenever I'm alone feel stressed and need to calm down. You're not alone by any means.
After looking at this thread, I feel more confident that I'll probably wait to find a good PC and play it when the time is right. Kind of bummed hearing about the game's flaws and bugs, but hey, I doubt that won't stop it from being my 2014 2013 game of the year.
Manziel will do great again this year, and I'm liking what I'm seeing out of Teddy Bridgewater, but you all need to see this game between FSU vs. Pitt. Freshmen QB Jameis Winston is kicking ass in Pittsburgh. He's scored 3 passing TD's, 1 rushing TD, threw for 240 yards and threw for 17/18 completions, all in the first half!
The main problems mentioned in the reviews seem to be Battle AI and the long loading times between turns. While it's irritating that these issues may not be 'fixed', it also matches my expectations for a Total War game and I doubt it will effect my enjoyment of the game negatively.
I don't buy too much into analysing review scores. While I have mentioned that I'm hyped for this game, I know that Total War is for me and that I'll likely enjoy this. However on other forums, all analysis of game scores descends into is either: THIS REVIEWER SUCKS, the game will be great! OR OH NO, the game will now suck!!
I love that 7 - 8 on most review sites is seen as a 'bad' score.
I still want to play this when I can get a PC for it, (either this year or next year). Though when I read the early reviews, it felt like deja vu to me. Eurogamer and Joystiq both gave it a 7 and I'm not saying that's a bad score, but I had a bedtime dream where Rome II's metacritic score was a 72 and in the dream I was scared Rome II was gonna be the biggest disappointment of 2013. Of course the thought that my dream could see the future of this game's press scores is dubunked with it having an 85 metacritic score now, but man it felt surreal when I saw the Eurogamer review first. No matter how it does in the press, I still want Rome II.
