If Harmonix had done FMV I feel like people would be falling all over themselves saying how goofy and funny it was

You're 100% right, Harmonix have a disgusting fan base who fellate anything they did.

That said remember how embarrasing the RB3 intro was?

reads like a fansite article, terrible. also Rolling Stones and Muse both found themselves later in Rocksmith; I guess Harmonix just weren't that good at liscencing.

Why is it ok for Harmonix to put out a new Dance Central literally every single year but Neversoft were insulted and bashed for putting out a new Guitar Hero every year? Shitty industry.

There were two horrific encounters and statements that where misoganystic and bigot towards two repressed groups of humans tonight on this site. I support this site because I enjoyed the content and the staffers didn't resort to hurtful language. It appears I was wrong tonight. I am hoping something is done because my feelings are pretty hurt right now and I don't know if I can continue supporting a site that openly uses inapropriate terms for women and homosexuals in a derogatory fashion. It doesn't matter how mad you get it's not right. Perhaps the GiantBomb crew needs to be educated about why these words are innapropriate and such. I am just dissapointed.

Just want to drop some slides and images showing how much this game is like the original planned PSP version of Phase (which was rumored to be FreQuency 3 at one point)

You can actually see in these a early prototype for the 2 button gameplay (adapted for PSP though), and notice the similiarity in RBB of how the urban city scape is similar to the first prototype for Phase. The last photo was a three button prototype for the canceled PSP version.

It's a shame Phase ended up on iPod's. It's clear that the technology just wasn't there at the time and it harmed the game. Makes you wonder what it'd had been like if it was a PSP game but I guess we're finding out now!

I don't really think this is Amp/Freq at all, but that's just from judging from a 2:50 video. The two buttons really worry me, but I am willing to give this game a chance. I WANT to love it but I just don't know. 2 buttons looks very weird, and i'm guessing they're auto-generating from the tracks using some kind of method like this:

Drum Auto generation:

1 button is the kick beats

2 would be the three other lanes mixed into one

I just don't know. Atleast in this games favor it's being developed by Harmonix unlike Rock Band: Unplugged (but I love that game in a DJ Max not Amp/Freq way). Hopefully what was shown was just the easy mode or what not. But there are some core fundamental features of Frequency and Amplitude that this game seems to be lacking from this short preview.

For one, a HUGE part of Freq and Amp where lane clearing. This would not only make the game highly competitive and lots of theorycrafting the best attack of lanes, but it provided a challenge in that you could actually fail out of the song.

The second one, which is the biggest in my humble opinion that I hope this game has, was that the tracks audio would cut out when the lane wasn't "cleared". This meant that each time you played through a song you got a different sounding song and could kind of "customize" it to your way. It felt great and added alot. If this is just hitting buttons to a MP3 then...I don't know. I just hope Harmonix have thought about this as much as I can sperg about it.

Either way, thank you Harmonix for trying. I am ready to eat years of crow if you pull this off.
