@leebmx: That one can be pretty tricky. I needed a bit of help for that one. If I had a character that could help I'd offer my services but I don't think I have one in the right level range sadly. My one bit of advice is to focus one of the buggers down so you can more easily deal with the other. And get good at avoiding the attacks because there's a lot of lightning in that fight so you won't be able to just block your way through the encounter.

I think of IGN before I think Kotaku for "controversy=clicks."

Kotaku as I see it (ie infrequently), whenever it's not just posting "news" is usually just posting vapid bullshit.

I also don't think that anyone with their content going up on Game fucking trailers has so much as a small pile of shit to stand on, but that's just me.

@triple07: GET A SPEAR EARLY ON. And start as a pyromancer, or a knight. Knight starts with a good shield so it might be worth it if you just want to be careful, but pyromancy is pretty handy early on too. I'd go knight, honestly.

Also helps to have a friend to engage in jolly cooperations together. There are a couple demons that'll probably piss you off early on, so don't be afraid to look up guides on ways to kill them. Also, don't hoard souls. Every time you have a decent chunk of them, use em. And don't forget to use all of your "Souls" items, which give you souls. A lot of people I know never used them, and they can really help you progress faster. Just don't use them until you're at a bonfire and want to spend some souls.

I would honestly stay away from guides. You just need the basic concepts. Beyond that, you should explore the game and figure it out. As long as you're careful, have a shield that has full physical, and a weapon you dig the timing and stuff on, you'll be fine. There are a few mechanics you should look into, like reinforcing gear, but other than that, figure it out. It's a big part of the appeal of the game. You just need a boost out of the gate so you aren't totally lost.

The first Harry Potter game. It's ridiculously easy until you have to fight Voldermort. I'm not actually sure I ever actually beat the fucker.

@hailinel: @bocam: Good to know I guess, but it should have been stated on the front page. I don't ever read Worth Reading really, at most I'll browse to see if there are any interesting things mentioned and then go explore those on my own. I'm sure plenty of people don't read the feature, and I'm a little tired of them not just putting up stories that explicitly state things are happening on the actual front page.

What?! Leaving already? This is genuinely shocking. I really hope the crew doesn't just not acknowledge and talk about it at all like they did with Dave's departure, though. That would be really sad. Who am I kidding? This is sad. I'll miss Patrick's presence here, even if he'll still technically be on the site.

Man, is he at least gonna be at this year's obviously crazy, news-bearing E3 (the most crazy, news-bearing E3 in YEARS)? I was looking forward to that... damn, bro. Damn.

Yeah, another example of Giantbomb not pushing information to the site properly. They expect us all to constantly keep up with all of their twitters and read every forum thread instead of just posting a story to the front page. I still don't actually know how/when/where this information came from.

I'm sure the site will be fine. It'll be a bummer to lose Patrick in video content, but the site was awesome before he came along and before he got super engaged with creating content, it'll be awesome when he leaves. If anything, I think it might be a good thing. I don't really feel like Patrick has created a shit ton of new content, I think he's just been in a growing portion of content while also contributing a decent bit of more content. Hopefully this'll encourage the other guys to spread out the workload a bit and they can start appearing in stuff to bring back some of that diversity.

So they can make anime games where you touch girls boobs.

Do you get force feedback and is there oculus rift support?

Well of course.

Where do I place my pre-order?

In my pants.

As neat as this is, the angle is kind of maddening. Especially with the poor viewing angles. Or maybe it's just that you're running different models and they have different color profiles, but that'd be silly.

Seems to run awful well, even for the setup. What are the settings/resolution?

this is called youtube spam, on the flipside: welcome to giantbomb!

I'd say his text actually encourages discussion, so I wouldn't call it spam.

@counterclockwork87: $5 an hour + tips, for one. For another, not making $1600 doesn't mean a whole lot. $1600 is enough to live off of in relative comfort. That is way more than enough to survive on.

And to be fair, 90% of the people I have either known to be the "delivery boy"/have had show up on my door step with food have all been kids just looking for some money on the side, not people trying to support a family.
