@rwools: Definitely intentional!

Commenting now before a pedant points out that Final Fantasy III was released outside Japan on DS in 2006: That version is altered and rebalanced enough (mostly in ways that make it worse!) that it doesn't deserve to be considered the same game. (The DS version of FF4 is also a very different game! But unlike with 3, that one is worth experiencing if you are already familiar with FF4 and what a different take on it.)

Wait, did everybody just completely gloss over the fact that A-kon was credited for a song in this game or did I misread that in the credits?

Blue Dragon ultimately wasn't a big deal, but pre-release it definitely was. It was Sakaguchi's first big thing after getting booted from Square, plus artwork/design from Akira Toriyama. The last time the two worked together we got Chrono Trigger out of it, after all.

I think in Japan it did pretty well too? They got two sequels out of it on the DS, no way that would've happened based on Western reception.

Does Dan know that there is a Dragon Ball asymmetrical villain vs survivors game? I had a lot of fun playing Dragon Ball: The Breakers for a few months. The big drawback though was that since it was 1v7, you didn't get to play the villain as often as you might like. Survivors were also pretty fun once you unlocked some good skills.

The original Waluigi is obviously Dick Dastardly. He and Muttley were actually popular characters in Japan for a time.

Also, no EVO talk??

I gotta say RE: Malcolm in the Middle, it always felt to me like the most accurate depiction of growing up poor in suburban America, even more than something like Roseanne. Show largely holds up.

I know the manufacturers of Tapatio say that their sauce does not need to be refrigerated after opening. It technically does not contain vinegar, just acetic acid, but I don't know if that's what makes the difference.

And as of the time of my posting, looks like this game was removed from Steam for the stolen assets. Good riddance to the NFT chuds.

Arc System Works is the owner of Kunio-kun since about 2016 or 2017, that's why their name is on here. Don't know if they contributed anything other than general oversight and production work in this case.
