Game of the Year 2015 [Final List]

So, I just wanted to create a list of my final choices for GOTY. I will start to put actual words to these things and give a more detailed breakdown soon so if you're interested in hearing deeper thoughts keep http://azeymagames.tumblr.com on your radar. I'll most likely post it there.

Dang, people are already putting out their Game of the Year lists? I can't think about that stuff for like another month. Your list seems pretty solid! I think the only point overlap you and I may have on whatever my list ends up being is Metal Gear. Life is Strange seems like it is pretty great from the GBeast streams, I personally found Hotline Miami 2 all sorts of disappointing, I found MKX slightly less disappointing but still underwhelming, and I'm giving Disgaea 5 a go to see if that series is for me in any way, shape, or form.

*sees it's a GOTY list by Demoskinos*

*scrolls down to see Senran Kagura and Onechanbara*

Yep, this looks right.

his list just reminds how damn good this year has been. I've only even played 2 games on this list (although I hope to get to 2 more before the end of the year)

I feel like I'm going to be playing 2015 releases for years to come as there are at least 30 games I want to play. maybe more

Did you like the older Deception games @demoskinos ? Always kinda wondered about that series.

@slag: You know this was my first go at one. I really liked it its like nothing else I've ever really played. Like I have no clue how I'd actually describe it to someone who doesn't already sort of know the premise. I've been interested to possibly try some of the older ones now. I do think they added the first game to the PS One Classics on PSN. Might have to dust off the PS3 at some point and try that out.

I really did enjoy 4 though. Setting up stuff like this was tons of fun.

@demoskinos: man that looks like a blast, lot of slapstick schadenfreude.

yeah that pretty unique gameplay is what is personally appealing to me. Not everyday you see something that radically mechanically different

fwiw The way I've tried to explain this series to my friends is that is the videogame version of Mouse Trap (the board game) where the mouse is Anime Teens. Basically you build a Rube Goldberg death contraption on the fly in which you try to catch fleeing Anime teens?

Does that sound basically right?

@grantheaslip: There were a number of things in LiS that just stayed with me for days after I finished it. Something about it I just really clicked with.

@slag:Thats pretty apt I suppose, yeah.
