Well if it had been an issue that wasn't obvious from the beginning then I would be applauding them,

That's the thing. It wasn't obvious.

They receive no complains during internal testing, nothing that I know of during beta either.

if it wasn't that they had rushed it to meet a deadline rather than actually shipping the game with a working aiming system I wouldn't be blaming them, if they had admitted to it when first caught out rather than posting a bitchy blog about how the entire community was wrong I wouldn't have a problem either.
So yeah, I'm bitching, but it's perfectly justified.

The aiming system from what I have heard works just fine. Just not to the liking of some who are kicking up a fuss.

ND decided to address it anyway.

Can't believe people are bitching at them for going out of their way to address what is in the grand scheme of things a relatively minor problem.

A great deal of (online) publications relish in their filthy stinking misleading lies, and it's disgusting. I'm no journalist major, but I took English classes, and the ethical approach was instilled in me. I cannot imagine being in their position and thinking, "This is what I wrote, and I'm proud of what I'm doing." Are "the clicks" worth your credibility and reputation?

Current evidence would point to yes.

Not only would they publish misleading titles, they would also phrase it to be as inflammatory as possible.

For an example, you would only need to look at Destructoid's Jim Sterling. You can include some of Kotaku's "editorial pieces" as well.

Only Naughty Dog could spin fixing their broken ass aiming into something positive.

Game developer try to fix issue with game. Even invited gamers to their offices to air their "grievances" and help out pin-point what they are unhappy about, so the developers can tuned it to exactly how they would like it.

Only bitching GiantBomb commenters could spin what is a positive response to feedback into something negative.

“I think we’ll probably have to make it [MGS5] at some point, but what that will be, we have no idea,” he reportedly said.

Yupe. Konami is till trying to milk the franchise. /sigh

Can't they just let it end. End on a (relatively) good note. Why must everything be run into the ground? Milked until there is nothing but a dried corpse left.

“As far as my involvement in the project is concerned, [it] probably won’t be as much as it was with MGS1--maybe I can do just one stage! For MGS1 I made the maps myself, laid out the enemy routes myself, did everything hands-on--that level I can’t do again.”

That's what poor Mr Kojima is hoping anyway ...

$50 on him getting drag back into the directors chair if the project's development takes a turn for the worse.

Also, I'm super glad they broke the infamous '' trilogy '' vicious circle that most games try to achieve.

On a second and random note ; Why three games all the time? Why stop at three? It usually means, one interesting game, one filler, and one ''ending'' game. It's almost always a bad idea anyways.

It's usually 3 because that's when they normally run out of ideas.

The first game is normally the freshest, but also the weakest as they figure out the game mechanics. The 2nd normally is the one with the most improvement as they refine and come to terms with the game mechanics. The 3rd one will normally be the most polished as they now know their work inside out but also the one where they will start "scrapping the bottom of the barrel".

Thus by the third game it's best to call it quits and move on, else you will start releasing uninspired rehashes or "mutant" games where you shoehorn in stupid things that "don't fit" in an attempt to keep things interesting.

What makes you think he's trapped?

What makes you think he isn't?

If I have been making the same damn series of games for over a decade, I would be fucking sick of it too and would want to try something else. It would be like being typecast as an actor. Sure it's not a problem if you are just doing it for the cash. But if you are serious about your art, being typecasted it's the worst thing that can happen to you as an actor.

This couple of years has all been sequels, sequels, pre-sequels and more sequels. Milk the game concept and storyline dry, than try to milk it some more by tacking on some shit that doesn't fit at all - If you are out of ideas what else can you do? - and ruin the series.

I don't think he's trapped as much as he just doesn't care anymore. The guy seems to have been embracing the attention he gets whenever he works on a major MGS game. I think him saying "This is my final MGS game" has become less genuine over the years and he says that just to drum up anticipation more than to express his desire to end the franchise. If making another MGS game is what it takes for him to make big money and bring him back into the gaming scene, he's gonna do it. I hate to think that about him, but when all I see him doing is posing for PR shots of his upcoming game or seeing how many products he can put in his game, I feel like he's lost that creative desire.

I'm quite sure he is sick of it.

He wants to make something else but always gets dragged back to MGS because a) Konami keeps insisting they make another one, b) Kojima somehow always get dragged back to directing it because either he can't let go and see his baby "run into the ground" or the guy taking over wasn't up to the task and the project wasn't going well.

He did try to make an new original IP game a while back but it got shit canned before he could even announce it. He was really really depressed for a while.

http://www.destructoid.com/kojima-s-new-game-canceled-kojima-not-happy-about-it-201905.phtml

PR shots are PR shots, it's part of the job. He is a celebrity. Actors show up for premieres even if they fucking hated the movie they just made.

He must be reaaaaalllly sick of having to find even more convoluted ways of putting snake into all sorts of situations.

Solid Snake is dead. He's DEAD. A new Metal Gear Game was always going to happen, but a new Metal Gear SOLID game? How? A clone of a clone? Solid Solid Snake? Solid Snake MkII? Will this snake age even faster? Real-Time Ageing Mechanic?

LOL.
