@lokihellfire2008: Too late, I'm a millennial. Already burnt an effigy of the person at the stake, posted all of their contact information alongside a biased message on Twitter to drum up a witch hunt (over 4k likes in three minutes), knitted a voodoo doll with the fibres of my old Far Cry satchel, and started a movement to ban them from every forum on the Internet--all with minimal evidence to support my accusations!

This honestly seems like a covert advertisement. The Reddit thread that @banefirelord linked to paints a much more accurate picture of these 'random' bundles.

(OMG it's the flying bear from the Skyrim Quick Look! And Alexis from that UPF where everyone left him, haha!)

Holy fuck, enough already. Mass Alex is the name of the series. Move on! Hold on a mo whilst I telepathically contact a mod to lock this thread.

Pretty much called this in the earlier thread--it was a deeply predictable failure. I didn't want it to be (thus my optimism) as the developers are talented, but this isn't the game the market was asking for (myself included). Apparently sold 1k physical copies in its first week in the UK according to a ResetEra post. Another frustratingly overpriced racing/driving game with potential in a industry bereft of them. Wreckfest is another case in point.

Oh. This looks nothing like the spiritual Motorstorm successor I was hoping it was going to be. Definitely giving it a hard pass!

I'm a little worried about Codemasters. Dirt 4 has struggled, Showdown was deeply unspectacular, this is a risky proposition that could (I'm not saying will) tank, and without the F1 license there's not much worth getting excited about in their portfolio.

Quick Looks are the bread and butter of Giant Bomb. I used to enjoy them more when they felt more slapdash and less professional (i.e. lacking in structure and more spontaneous, whereas now they feel like a well-rounded demonstration, which feels a little stale), and although I respect the site's desire to diversify its content and subject matter, I came to this site in 2008 for video games, and video games alone, so I'm not the target audience for a majority of the other material.

Mid-summer is typically a supremely quiet period for releases, so if there has been a precipitous drop-off lately, blame the time of year and not the staff schedule.

Far Cry in incredibly dumb, lowest common denominator shock.

Probably GTA IV. I had a moment standing in the docks as the sun was rising, and it just felt real. I took cabs everywhere without skipping ahead, and played through that game twice. GTA V washed off me by comparison.
