there have been a few slight compatability issues though (for instance I can't play Dungeon Keeper 2

There is no reasonable justification for buying top of the line- the price premium is not equivalent of the performance gain. 
 
It also boggles the mind that you bought it pre-built. You literally spent ~1000 US (1150 AUS) dollars more than you would have had you built it yourself in the US.

Pretty expensive, but nice setup congrats. As far as being obsolete in a month, thats just stupid. Sure newer, better hardware will come out in a few months or whatever, but I can play most PC games on a rig I got 4 years ago. I could see this rig lasting even longer than that. Besides if you think about it how much better can graphics get?

That is awesome and might I just add I only have 4 gigs of ram with a quad core and still nothing maxes up my ram so that computer should last you a good while!

I work at Best Buy, and a guy came in from New Zealand. He had just bought an Asus netbook over there for over AUS$800.....it's only $299 US here... "

Nice PC, mine's pretty similar. Ditch Vista ASAP of course, and invest in a good mouse. You'll enjoy it, I promise. :)

that's pretty much the computer i would want, except i think i'd want the ATI 5870 instead because it has DX11 and it's a little cheaper.
