While we're talking about the comment box in Firefox, for some reason the comment box for me always starts with a space already in it

Definitely not in countries outside the US. All those drops and lotteries etc. are all US-based. I spent a chunk of time waiting in the Sony direct purchase line, got in, then got told they wouldn't sell to me in Australia.

Every store here will be out in the time it takes me to click a link saying that they're finally back in stock. At this point I'm thinking of just buying myself a nice uhd bluray player and upgrading my some parts of my PC instead - especially given there still aren't any exclusive games I'm interested in so far.

That original trailer they put out for this game had me so excited, then when it reappeared it was such a complete bummer. Glad someone played it to keep the whole thing being forgotten 😅

@rorie: I'll check this later today. Some info that might be helpful is that for me ublock wasn't the issue, but 1 specific tracker being blocked in ghostery was what was giving me grief. I'll update this post with its name once I'm at my computer.

@rori: I've tested this and it's now working with both ublock origin on and ghostery blocking all trackers in Firefox, so this seems to be working now!

Here's the minimum scripts I needed to enable via noscript as well to get things running as expected in case that helps?

Just wondering if it also tries to eject a disc when it turns on? It may be an astronomically weird coincidence and you're actually just starting to develop the issue with your PS4 where the eject button starts getting too sensitive and is randomly turning on the console occasionally.

More likely however as people have suggested is there's just some minor cross-over in the bluetooth signal that is getting picked up by the PS4 every now and then.

I've really loved the Machineries of Empire books by Yoon Ha Lee. Really interesting SF books about a space-faring empire who's technology works based on the ritual observance of a dictated calendar. Its main characters play off each other extremely well.

Ian M Banks' older Culture novels maybe wouldn't be considered "modern" anymore, but Player of Games, Surface Detail, and Use of Weapons are all incredible reads.

Player of Games is a great place to start as it introduces you to a lot of the concepts of what The Culture is, while being a really fun story about a professional boardgamer being blackmailed into working for the Culture's intelligence agency to win a rival empire's boardgame (that determines who becomes emperor).

Surface Detail is about virtual afterlives, revenge, and psychotic sentient military ships and is an awesome time.

Use of Weapons is about the trauma of war and how it changes us.

I think it's fine, but like, I don't think I've gone out of my way to watch one in a very long time precisely because it is not a representation of what the game is in any way.

Ubisoft is probably the only company who's games are samey enough for this meta nft bullshit to work :p

I am excited to continue to not purchase their products with greater zeal.
