Asuka is the best promo in the company by far, please never make her stop speaking Japanese.

Curious if Big Show is just back for the Rumble or if they have something for him for Mania.

Yep. Bullet Club are straight villains and I love it. Not the cheered bad guy stuff. Straight up hated bad guys.

They're also the first bullet club (that I can remember) that are majorly over as heels in both Japan and the west.

I think it's because it was something that people waited so long for, and these types of angles not usually being done in the company (in terms of time/place), that made it so effective. You wait so long for something and finally get it only to have it unfairly taken away from you.

Liger ceremony was incredible. Inoki doing a video was a really nice touch.

Highly recommend you go out of your way to watch Shingo/EVIL vs Goto/Ishii, was one of the best matches of the weekend.

Suzuki/Mox just makes me want more Suzuki/Lawlor tbh.

New Japan unlisted the post match video on YouTube where Jericho was talking about his hope that New Japan and AEW would work together. It was first set to private, but it is viewable again with a direct link.

They mentioned it on tonight's show, saying it was on NJPW World. Still weird to unlist it though.

Man I hate that it's Moxley instead of Archer but hey, if anyone can pull something out of Moxley it's Suzuki.

That was hype as fuck.

I was already sad enough seeing Liger's last match, seeing Tana tap out in the dome hurt :(

God the KENTA/Switchblade Bullet Club is so much better than The Elite's.

I can't believe Dan's debuting at the Tokyo Dome!

....Aw fuck me he's gonna be living within like 30 minutes of me. The property value in the area is gonna plummet. At least Dan will finally be able to learn that Connecticut pizza is 1000x better than New York pizza.

@gundato: I think the root of the problem (and one that is a constant for licensed games, but I feel wrestling games in particular) is that the developers have to focus on getting the "experience" or "brand" right, and not the actual heart of the medium. Rather than focusing on making a game that builds on the core of what makes people like wrestling, they have to focus on building a game that gets all of the things you can recognize from the brand in, which is why the majority of the promotion for these games is "Here's what this new wrestler's entrance looks like in the game!", so you can see "wow, that entrance I like is in the game!". It sucks cause I know this way of thinking is probably the more profitable one, but it really limits the potential of licensed games. Then, on top of this, the WWE games supposedly have very strict development schedules and budgets, which makes it all the harder to fit in meaningful game design to go with the branding its being sold on.

@sombre: This was the best year of Shingo's career for me, personally. Ishii was great as he always is but I'd take his 2018 over his 2019. Still praying that that Ishii IWGP title reign will come someday but I'm starting to lose hope.

Best timeline we have Ishii as IWGP HebyQ champion and Otis as WWE champion at the same time. It's what I'm praying for.

Mansoor's wife was in California for the Rose Parade so he spent 6 hours (starting at 11) last night shooting the shit and getting real genuine about shit in his life while pretending his wife left him and it was probably the greatest worked shoot in history. That man needs to be on TV more.

Who do you think has had a better year, Takagi or Ishii? Cause I think they've both had a great year

Personally I'd say Ishii had a greater overall volume, but Takagi's year was more notable because (not that he hasn't been incredible in the past) this was more of a "breakout" year for him, wheras for Ishii it was just Ishii being Ishii. Which is kind of unfair because it gives Ishii an impossible standard to outdo but it's what I naturally think.

The wedding angle was incredible and the best non-wrestling segment WWE has had in years.

I love how in trying to be woke he completely trivializes domestic violence by using it to describe a female wrestler slapping her female wrestler ex in response to her interrupting her wedding, and them getting into a fight as a result.

And flat out gaslighting in regards to the crowd reaction.
