I guess I'll drop my game in this thread too. EA Simulator has been a game idea I've been kicking around for a while. It's a bit one-note but I hope duders get a laugh out of it.
As for development, I've had a small amount of experience (an internship) with business application development coming into this. I figured I'd go with a theme that I was familiar with.
Game development surprised me in 2 different ways. Programming games, at least with the Defold engine, was way more low level than I was expecting. I didn't quite realize how much I had to do to make a button click, animate when clicked, and do the reverse + action on release etc. Secondly art. Well... "art" in my case. So much art.
Overall It's been a great experience. I've kinda picked up a new tool, got some experience with a new language, and have gotten way more familiar with photo editing. While the code base is super messy and there are definitely 2ish major bugs I'm still pretty happy with what came out.
I'm looking forward to seeing what games you guys have made!
