I live in the prairies in Canada which has large German and Ukranian populations. I would think you could find perogies at most grocery stores maybe not fresh ones though. There are lots of different spellings of perogy too.
@haggis: Ok that is good to know. I am not a heavy reader so it took me a long time to finish Cryptonomicon. I quite enjoyed it but lately have been going with shorter books which lets me get a nice variety. I will probably go back to Stephenson again.

I recommend reading Cryptonomicon if you haven't read any Neal Stephenson and see where you want to go from there. He has a different style that you may or may not enjoy. I have not read any of Baroque Cycle yet but Cryptonomicon had an actual ending and was quite good.
