Why do people think what Nintendo does doesn't matter? They've been setting standards for quality in this industry for decades, why the fuck is that going to stop? Do you honestly think that with the Wii U where it is they're not going to come out and slam some fantastic shit on the table?
Fuck it. Maybe it's time to build a good pc and just give it a permanent home connected to my tv. At least I can play my Steam library there.

Get a fucking gripe, kids! Can you guy PLEASE stop using shit like "having a kid" and "getting married" and "outside work commitments" as an excuse for a (perceived) lack of content? Can you imagine going to work, not doing your job, then going "Well, sorry! I'm getting married," and then keeping your job? I don't believe any of that shit is the case, or that the site is in decline, or that Patrick staying/leaving does anything to the content quality, or that any one member of the crew doesn't pull their weight/is jaded/is dumb, but if you're going to get into these arguments at least use valid arguments that aren't complete fucking nonsense.
My premium account seems fucked right now, as well. I checked billing and it says my yearly renewed on the 7th, but I see ads everywhere and I can no longer access premium content. It was working properly last night, but suddenly it isn't.
Objectively, it doesn't make a single lick of difference, because it's whatever YOU like more. I think Wind Waker is leagues ahead of every Zelda game ever made, for my own personal reasons, but that doesn't mean I'm either right or wrong. I think saying you can't like an older game better than a newer one in the same series, due to nostalgia, is incredibly short-sighted, but there are also some seriously heavily tinted glasses because of it.
But so what? You love what you love and someone else doesn't, who really gives a fuck? If they're too ignorant to agree to disagree it's not worth trying to have a conversation with them about it. Saying stuff like "pro-retro" and "pro-current" is part of the problem and having to explain your "pro-retro" stance, as you put it, doesn't make it any better.
The anger I felt was unlike anything I've felt in years. I know, in my heart, our shitty young team did a great job of making it a challenge, but giving up 3 goals within 10 minutes and 2 in the last few minutes was beyond brutal. I'm thankful I have games as my "thing" because I can immediately retreat into that world and let my frustration wash away.
