Now for a follow up. The steam version costs €39,99 still. Is there other services besides steam where it's sold cheaper since if you buy a physical copy it's only €12. But I'd rather not wait.
I'm wondering if my PC with a Intel Core i5 3450 and a Radeon HD7770 will give me enough of a performance and visual bump to make it worth buying it on the PC instead of the console versions?
Don't worry about finishing Max Payne 3 if you haven't already.

I concur. Max Payne 3 was epically disappointing. Such retarded and game breaking changes to series amazing core mechanics.
like what... you mean the cover system. did that really break it. it did not for me, i loved it and it loved the originals. it would of been weird if MP3 didn't have the ability to take cover imo
I didn't like the cover system. Max Payne for me was always that you run at your enemies and then dive in bullettime or just activate it and run though a group of enemies and kill them before they know what hit them. The cover system ruins the pace that your used to from the old games. I understand that they were doing a more "grounded" game and having you just run out and get shot a million times in every combat scenario isn't exactly what you'd call realistic. But it's not Max Payne as I remember it. And I liked to story better in the old games, though the story in MP3 is still great and the reason you'd play the game.
Even if this is slated by the time the next console cycle launches, it will also be released on current gen.
If so, then it will be incredibly scaled down graphics wise. The 360 and PS3 can't handle that level of graphics at all. It wouldn't surprise me if this doesn't come to this gen of consoles since adapting this new tech for consoles that have such a difference in horsepower between this and the next generation of consoles will take al ot of work. And LucasArts haven't had a big hit in a while so i doubt they are that keen on putting in that much more money on making their technical marvel look shittier. Not to mention having a poorer looking version will take away from the next-gen one and people will more likely go for the 360/PS3 version since history has shown us that games that come out on two different generations of consoles, that the one for the older tech is usually more feature packed.
