people keep saying that its in the game therefore we should just deal with it... but what does that have to do with enjoyment?
there are lots of things in lots of games, some are good, some are bad, and they effect how much fun it is to play.
it is not fun to get killed by someone who you just killed - it doesn't make sense, it punishes for playing the game well/properly, and to a certain extent, its not very fun to get kills using martyrdom, because you don't really have a sense of accomplishment from being given what is essentially a dice-roll free kill.
You have to have a credit card to set up an xbox live account... so these douchebags are obviously being permitted on live by their parents... nothing we can do but hope and pray that people like that all die right now.
On a scale of ONE to TEN, anything above a 7 is fucking good!!!
Not every game can be a 9+/10, that's just the way it is with everything. The recent rambo film has a 46 on metacritic, you think that stopped bagillions of people from seeing it and liking it. Not every piece of art is a masterpiece, not every movie is a blockbuster, not every book is a bestseller... but they can still be pretty good.
A game mechanic that offers a potential reward for failure is just stupid. It dis-incentivises people from playing properly/fairly, and punishes good players for using certain strategies (winning strategies).
If you don't think martyrdom is a problem, then that's nice for you. But for 99% of people who play games where winning is the (supposed) objective, features like martyrdom run counter to the whole idea of the game.
If there's no lag, then all the characters can win, but if there's even a tiny bit of lag, then the faster character will win, because their attacks hit before your blocks register.
