I'm not sure the combat deployment issue was a bug, so much as an aggressive tutorial.

Each time Drew was asked to try deploying a unit - he was only given the option for the VIP mission. After that however the game suggested with the red arrow his best squad to go out, and Drew never ACTUALLY sent them out (always a D or E squad with lower chances of survival).

So either his missions are coming up failures / partial successes OR the game really REALLY wants him to choose the deployment squad the little red arrow is pointing at.

Or its just a buggy mess and my idea is bupkis

It's a combination.
I don't know why the game didn't force him through this tutorial before enabling full use of the combat deployment menu, but apparently it didn't. Maybe Drew backed out by accident the first time...or maybe the game didn't stop him from sending out deployments right after staffing up the combat unit.

So by the time it came up, Dan had already taught Drew how to use this menu (IMO, they're spending way too much time on it...Drew's under the impression that it's really important but it's really not that critical to have two teams out at all times).

When the tutorial shows, it's showing a limited version of the menu but he actually can't send a squad out because he's already got two out on missions.

From a QA perspective, the game should just not do this tutorial if you've already send teams on missions, since you obviously know how it works. And/or there shouldn't be a way to fully use the combat deployment without first completing the tutorial deployment.

He's obviously poo-pooing the camera angle. I'm sure he's heard some of the controversy about her leading up to this game. The treatment of Quiet in this game is pretty blatant objectification especially if you increase the bond level. IOW Kojima is definitely the dirty man in this scenario.

Drew should really try deploying at night if he wants to play at all stealthy. The reason daytime deployment always worked for Dan is because he has a run-and-gun playstyle, which he seems to be sort of guiding Drew towards, even though he literally said "play how you wanna play" in this very episode.

He says that basically every episode. He says it right before or after strongly hinting towards a particular approach.

In Bidiots, shouldn't they make a really high bid before screwing someone? Or does it fail if the screwed player can't bid? (though if you're keeping track you should know how much each person has)

I guess it doesn't matter too much because that game kinda sucks, but I was curious why they all wasted their screws on garbage amounts.

Spent quite a while to beat this level blind.

I'm watching this video now to see why they ended up making the stand on POW block to enter door puzzle...I got stuck on that for a decent number of attempts, and ended up looking for secret blocks etc.

EDIT: Joke's on them. I totally brought the shoe into the underground and got the fire flowers every time, because you can "yoshi" the shoe to get back up. That POW block respawns.

EDIT2: *and* you can get out of the Koopa Party by stacking the trampolines. Never tried going down that last pipe though.
