I just want to say everything they said about Far Cry 2 vs 3 is why I like 2 better. Far Cry 3 you're an unstoppable killing machine filling up meters and bars the whole game. You might as well be a superhero once you get high end perks. It was fun, but the shooting was the weakest part of the game and it felt like a treadmill that dumps you off into boredom.

Far Cry 2 is about surviving, exploring, and building an armory of different feeling guns. Every gun handled uniquely and degraded at different rates. I can load up a 100% game of Far Cry 2 and enjoy it just as much as when I first started playing 200 hours ago.

[EDIT] Also Far Cry 1 is one of the best shooters and still holds up incredibly well apart from the awkward boss battles.

Skinship sounds like a term Buffalo Bill would be a fan of.

I have a gaming PC because I can play my favorite genres (Strategy and FPS) on their best platform and almost every game with any control scheme I want.

If I want to buy a console, it would basically be how everyone thinks of Nintendo consoles (only buying for exclusives) and the new consoles just don't have enough of those to be worth the investment.

Consoles are just a more limited scope for a lower price. If you're happy with that then who cares?

3/5 seems a bit harsh since the review makes it sound completely above average but it's GB so I don't expect the score to mean anything anyway.

I'd assume Dan would have given roughly the same to the previous game as well since it also had a lot of technical problems.

As a CS student, I constantly get asked if I want to make games and I always reply with "I love playing games but I don't like the idea of making games enough to withstand the working conditions."

It would be wonderful to live in a world where I can even consider that career path without having to sacrifice so much.

Much like watching all fatalities for Mortal Kombat, I kind of just want to see the special over the top specials and then move on.

Would love to hear more about the C&C 3 + RA3 days. I liked a lot of the back-of-the-box things RA3 did in terms of the tutorial, co-op, and naval features but it just felt TOO over the top and the Japanese faction was a total turn-off after how cool Yuri's faction was.
