GOTY... I know the year is only half way done but this game reminds me of playing DOOM as a 12 year old playing on my first PC. 7th Guest, Alone in the Dark, MK era. I'm the biggest Dark Souls head ever, but I KNEW Dark Souls III would be good. I expected DOOM 2016 to be shovelware. I loved every moment of the campaign and that's all I needed from DOOM. 100% with Brad on this one. Thanks Id.
Great review. I fully agree that this is one of the best shooter campaigns that I have ever played. From the opening scene to the final boss battle there isn't a wasted moment or pixel. With this, Dark Souls III, Uncharted 4, Salt and Sanctuary, 2016 is shaping up to be one hell of a year for video games and we're not even half way through yet. I'm really glad that this game is getting the hype and reverence it deserves. Again, great review Brad. Keep up the good work!
I hope the video game media rallies this as GOTY... I knew Dark Souls III was gonna be good... But Doom... Holy fuckin shit.
As a chef, corned beef and cabbage is disgusting. All it is a boiled brisket. It's soggy, it has a cross grain so it's a pain in the ass to cut properly and the cut it's self is 50% fat and sinue. My theory is that it's for old people who have no teeth or taste.
Edit: I completely agree with the guys on the new DOOM... As someone who was completely over FPS games, this is exactly what the genre needed. Feels true to what the original DOOM was.

Was Gone Home last year? because if not I'm surprised its not somewhere on the list. And my personal #1 is Bloodborne, so glad to see it in the top 3. Here's to 2016 being an even better year for video games.
