Thank you, Rorie! Question: does the new store provider means international shipping will be a thing? We are seriously lacking GB merch here in EU!
The good news is that this new store partner actually has a factory in the UK. So I'm really hoping that it will be a significant savings in shipping to the EU!
@hassun: Oddly I went back to Three Billboards after I saw Banshees and I was a little non-plussed! Great acting but I really wish the whole "racist cops can actually have a heart of gold in the end!" trope would die out. But still, it was a good watch.
Great read Rorie! Thanks for reminding me about Age of Ash been meaning to pick that up. Would you recommend just waiting for the next book tho? Since you said this one is a lot of just character/world building.
Ah I think it'd be fine to get this one, you'll probably want to sit a bit with it before the next one is out in March or May or whenever. It's definitely low on notable events (as compared to The Dragon's Path which gets right down to business right off the bat), but it's still really good and I'm looking forward to the rest.
I wasn't expecting to see Banshees of Inisherin anywhere on these lists, but I'm really happy you gave it a shoutout, Rorie.
It is *such* a good traumedy. A feel-bad comedy. I couldn't get Banshees out of my head for like the next two weeks after I saw it. So many scenes kept replaying in my head, thinking of just how sad everyones situation is, and how some of the characters calls for help are so veiled they're ignored or misunderstood.
It's the little passing phrases that some of the characters say that kind of stick in your head, and make you realize these people are hurting so, so much.
"How's the despair?"
It's exceptionally good and took me a few days to recover from. My wife and I were just sobbing for most of it, like really jag-crying. I knew it'd be good but I wasn't expecting to be punched in the gut like that.
i produced georgia's solo album ! glad u liked it ! love ya rorie keep doin what ur doin
well holy shit that is a coincidence! I really liked that album a bunch! I really loved You'll Be Singing My Name and her writing on that album really was intense.
@avioto: if nothing else we'll try to do some kind of community stream with people from the Discord to talk about it. Maybe a Discord Stage thing where people can stan for stuff that the staff missed?
