Advanced warfare advancing technology changing everything 0

This game gave a HUGE breath of air to the series after the lackluster Call of Duty: Ghosts. With extensive multiplayer customization, interesting and creative campaign levels, and a firing range in the multiplayer lobby, this is, without a doubt, one of the best futuristic COD games, alongside Black Ops II and III. The campaign, however, is too similar to previous gamesThe graphics are remarkable on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions. This was because Sledgehammer had the entire engine rewritte...

It is Activision's duty to milk this series forever. 0

Logan Walker is a member of the Ghosts task force, an elite semi-competent American spec ops unit. In the near future, America has been devastated by a strike with hacked satellite weapons, and is now a minor world power while the powerful coalition of South American nations known as "The Federation" has become a superpower. In an attempt to destroy the Ghosts, the Federation decides to unleash their ultimate weapon: a former Ghost named Gabriel Rorke. When I heard of this game I thought, "Okay, ...

Imagine yourself...in a future world. 0

Who would have guessed that there was a third game in Black Ops...and that it gives references to older titles of the Black Ops series? Like when Khalil mentioned Raul Menendez, the main antagonist of Black Ops 2 and if you go in the database you can find old letters from Hudson and Alex Mason. With great graphics for 2015, an amazing Jack Wall soundtrack, stellar voice acting, and so much more, Black Ops III sets the standards for the future of gaming. This game introduced the new specialists wi...

Should've been declassified 0

This is a rushed disaster in the franchise, serving as an interquel between Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II. It should be noted that this was also released on the same day as Black Ops II, which obviously meant that they had two of their own games competing against each other. It's very doubtful that this helped sales. Of course the fact that it was released simultaneously with Black Ops II doesn't really give you anything good other than a collector's item. But even for t...

An awesome game has an even more awesome sequel 0

I was happy I pre-ordered this one going on in. After the original Black Ops, I was expecting much more with everyone else, so this is the exciting result we get. The graphics look amazing by 2012 standards. The acting is superb. Even the theme song and soundtrack are awesome, including the orchestral mix composed by Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor. In fact, there's a non-canon post-credits scene unlocked by completing the game, depicting two of the characters performing at a concert with ...

We live in a world...where everything you know...is right. 0

I had heard a lot about this one going in.Great voice acting (especially Gary Oldman and Sam Worthington), amazing graphics for its time that still hold up nicely, and a thrilling story with a great plot twist towards the end make this yet another all-time favorite of mine. The game nicely links up with World At War by connecting the events that occurred after the Russian campaign. The missions in the game covers a wide variety of geography and gameplay. What scares me is that there are so many...

Activision's done it again for good this time 0

After the release of Modern Warfare 2, the co-founders of Infinity Ward, Jason West and Vince Zampella, asked for extremely large bonuses and creative control of the Call of Duty series. Activision agreed, but added a clause to the contract that should they be fired, the rights to Call of Duty would fall back to Activision. After the contract was made former chief legal officer George Rose at Activision asked Thomas Fenady, former director of information technology at Activision, to "dig up dir...

Soap (the protagonist of COD 4) returns and is now fully voiced. With its amazing graphics that were nicely detailed at the time, great soundtrack, and so much more, Modern Warfare 2 sets the standard for shooters. My #1 favorite of all-time! 0

Modern Warfare breaks away from the World War II setting of previous entries in the series and is instead set in modern times.Despite the game actually being good, Activision constantly reskinned the game for future titles in the series, which also resulted in many people (such as me, sort of) getting tired of generic games of this kind in general. In other words, this game, and it's sequels are pretty much responsible for the over-saturation of generic FPS games due to its success.Despite the E...

How about you run away from this atrocity... 0

I thought this was an awesome game that I got for Christmas once, and I thought I'd enjoy it. It gave me average qualities, tho. This game, like Black Box's previous titles, is extremely rushed. Not only is it very short, but bugs, glitches, and crashes can also happen at any point in the game. You can really tell that Black Box had ambitions for this game but EA yet again couldn't bother to give them more time for it. Sadly for that reason, this game would be the end of what was once a legendary...

It's too rogue, yet it's too funny and ridiculous to really hate on. 0

Rogue Warrior is a first-person shooter game with tactical elements. Its goal begins as an infiltration mission to disrupt hostile missiles and evolves to prevent other potentially dangerous situations. It takes place in 1986. The main character is Richard "Demo Dick" Marcinko. Marcinko is a real-life Navy SEAL best known for creating SEAL Team Six in 1980. In the game, Marcinko is sent on a mission into North Korea and the Soviet Union to disrupt a ballistic missile program. The game is not bas...

Nate and his team did it--one last time. 0

A Thief's End, the last of all the sequels to Drake's Fortune, follows series protagonist Nathan Drake (portrayed by Nolan North), who has retired from fortune hunting several years after the events of Drake's Deception. He reunites with his estranged older brother Sam and long time partner Sully to search for clues to the location of Captain Henry Avery's long-lost treasure to save his brother. The usual superb voice acting (special mentions to Nolan North and Emily Rose), all helped by some top...

Greatness from all beginnings. 0

Nathan Drake is back, with his mentor Victor Sullivan, and this time he travels the world in search of the legendary lost city the Iram of the Pillars in the Rub' al Khali desert. The plot draws from the archaeology days of T. E. Lawrence. The story this time really drives home the relationship between Drake and Sully. The flashback near the beginning of the game show us how the two characters met each other. With its great graphics, detailed environments, well constructed character models, super...

No trust, no loyalty, no honor among thieves. 0

Nathan Drake has returned, and this time, he's through various Asian locales, in search of the Lost city of Shambhala, and the fabled Cintimani Stone before a group on Serbian (Yugoslavian?) mercenaries lead by war criminal Zoran Lazarevic. He is joined once again by Elena Fisher and Victor "Sully" Sullivan, as well as new faces Chloe Frazer, Harry Flynn, Tenzin, and Karl Schafer. Unfortunately, Victor Sullivan didn't have much of a role here since he only appeared in one level and in the end cu...

Treasure hunter, Nathan Drake (ancestor to Sir Francis Drake, supposedly), believes that his alleged ancestor faked his death in order to cover up the discovery of El Dorado. Drake sets out to find El Dorado himself, joined by journalist Elena Fisher, and his mentor/long time friend, Victor "Sully" Sullivan. This game was one of the early system sellers that saved the PlayStation 3 from its bad launch. It's-a him, Mario! 0

An all-time classic favorite of mine, Super Mario 64 is considered one of the most important and revolutionary milestones in gaming as it introduced many aspects of 3D gaming that are still being used today and showed what 3D gaming is capable of.Analog Controls: This was the first ever 3D game to feature full 360 movement that allowed the player to move in almost any way they can.Controllable Camera: Majority of the cameras in games at the time were either locked in place or just simply followe...

In the third dimension, everything can pawsibly go wrong. But Bubsy must not have been ready. 0

Bubsy 3D is remembered as one of three 3D platform games released in 1996 that established the template for the genre, along with Super Mario 64 and Crash Bandicoot. Christopher Reese, the lead programmer of the game, actually admitted that the game was a disaster (especially after he saw Super Mario 64) and that he would have preferred to start over from scratch if Accolade had let him. He originally stated that the game was supposed to be an early 3D game, but no one accepted that excuse becau...

Nothing but a waste of everyone's time, even the time of the poor souls who play this. 0

Even though the official title is "Superman", it is commonly known as "Superman 64", likely due to Nintendo's marketing strategy of placing '64' in the title of many of its games on the N64. This game is a prime example of unnecessary executive meddling. Titus originally envisioned the game to be open-world and even made a lot of destructible levels, but Warner Bros. was paranoid about Titus taking on the project and told them exactly what they wanted while watching the game through a microsc...

A classic! 0

One of PC's icons, Myst is the surrealistic adventure enough to become your own world. Originally released in 1993 via floppy disk, the game has been rereleased and reissued over the years on CD-ROM with higher quality and improvements. The game is supposedly based on Jules Verne's Mysterious Island, hence its name. With hundreds of captured and rendered images, 40 minutes of original music, 66 minutes of Quicktime, and 2 years in the making, this game is easy for you to experience!...

YOU'RE 🏆 WINNER ! 0

This is one of those rare instances when a game is so bad it's actually good if not so bad it's terrible. The game felt like it was being rushed for release or it was almost just like an unfinished pre-alpha demo made by college student that somehow got put on store shelves. According to the cover arts and back of the actual boxes, the game's will involve police chases, illicit activities (like illegal cargo), as well as more areas and locations. However, due to the game's lack of development...

Spirit of Slowness is more like it. Grats, LJN, you done it once again. 0

The final game from the Laughing Joking Numbnuts on the final Sega console, and of course, it all ended bitterly. There is no known reason for why Acclaim decided to publish this under the LJN name, but some say it was because they knew they had a terrible game on their hands. This game recreates 1930s racing, using classic model vehicles on famous race tracks around the world. Very interesting concept, but I eventually think it was supposed to be more realistic. Even though it's claimed to b...

Hooters probably doesn't want to be associated with this mess anymore. 0

This game is supposed to be built around the license of the Hooters restaurant chain, featuring both real life and computer-generated images and video footage of its iconic waitresses. But it never ever goes on any road trip. There is no real purpose on making a videogame based on a chain of restaurants that is well known for having waitresses wearing revealing outfits as its main attraction. It's possible that the only reason why the developers decided to acquire the Hooters license was to sell...

One of the very best and most awesome games from one of the most-loathed companies 0

Based on the Belgian graphic novel series from the 1980s and 1990s of the same name about an amnesiac who seeks to discover his past, XIII is a sure sight not to be missed. Additionally, this game gives you emphasis that this is a comic book (and not much of a cartoon) with the cutscenes being presented in panels, onomatopoeias pop up when things like explosions happen, and small panels show up to zoom in on headshots. Much like The Wind Waker, XIII was (and still is) one of the first games t...

A bad adaptation of a board game somehow receives an even worse sequel. 0

While the NES version is enjoyable for the most part, the same cannot be said for Super Battleship on SNES and Genesis. The front cover of the game looks pretty decent like the prequel. But, despite being made for more powerful hardware than the NES, it is somehow even worse than the prequel in just about every way, shape, & form. There's nonexistent presentation: The intro just has the title of the game blowing up. The menu is just a ship sailing across the ocean and the mission complete s...

It's never a good idea to move your board game into a video game. 0

This game is the same as in the board game of the same name. The player's goal is to properly position the ships and destroy all enemy ships and prevent the enemy from destroying them all. The game is turn-based, so the player cannot react to the attack right away. The game was released in 1993 on the NES, when the SNES had been available for 3 years, which makes the game not very advanced graphically for those times. Unlike the sequel on the SNES, the game is playable. The very idea of making a...

Even Elliot looks disappointed. 1

This game, based on the film of the same name, was designed by the creator of 1981's Yars' Revenge, Howard Scott Warshaw, who accepted a job of making the entire game in only five and a half weeks. The fact that he was paid $200,000 (equivalent to half a million in modern money) and received an all-expenses paid trip to Hawaii, probably had something to do with him accepting this. Because of its large part in the '83 North American video game crash, it is officially the worst game of all time an...

2020 wasn't even raided like this 0

Released in 1990, Raid 2020 was an unlicensed action video game from Color Dreams for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The fact that this was made in 1990 and the year 2020 is already past has aged very horribly. This game may cause COVID (no joke), because it has spelling errors, it's very glitchy, you cannot jump high enough to reach certain items, some items are pretty useless, your main weapon is dreadful, artificial difficulty (you must dodge seagulls' defecation from the skies at the same...

Highway to the danger zone! 0

After playing Top Gun on NES, I found several other games. This is the second one in the franchise. I thought it would be an improvement, but nope. This game feels more like an Ace Combat rip-off due to the poor grasp of the source material. What doesn't help is that it was made by Titus Interactive, a company known for being bad.The graphics are poor, even for the 2001 standards. Seriously, this game looks like it was made in the mid-1990s The models of the tanks and the buildings look very blo...

The Tom Cruise classic film is a masterpiece, but this game...well, let's have a look. The storyline doesn't seem to be connected to the iconic movie it was based on. Most other games are connected, but is this one of the first to have poor connectivity? The film and this game have aged horribly, since the American F-14 Tomcat is no longer in service with the United States, but still in service with our enemy, Iran. No kidding. Also, the Soviet Union has been long gone, though there are rumors of...

I got this game because I love the franchise and I thought this game wouldn't be so bad, but oh god I was wrong. This game as a whole took 12 years to develop, only a little less than Duke Nukem Forever. As a result, it ended up looking like an unfinished product rushed at release riddled with bugs and glitches and a terrible storyline, despite the overly long development time. Coincidently enough, these two games were developed by Gearbox Software and they developed both games at the same ti...

You might need a neuralyzer to forget about this horrible game. 0

The main problem of this production is that the gameplay is extremely boring and outdated, which in 2012 is unacceptable, and could even delight at most in 1995. It suffers the same problem as the Rambo game two years later, as is not a standard third-person shooter for the time of its release, but an on rail shooter, including shooting, vehicle, and stealth missions. As mentioned before, the gameplay concept is focused on the rail shooter genre, so the game almost limits you to standing stil...

Nice job, Double Helix Games. When it comes to disappointing gamers everywhere, you never fail to disappoint. 0

If you thought the movie was a mess that sunk your battleship, think again. This game can be beaten in four hours yet was released for a full retail price of $60, which is considered expensive by today's standards. With poor graphics, it's clearly obvious that this game is not a console version of the board game. There are only seven levels that are criticized for being repetitive. You have to destroy alien jammers every time throughout the entire game with only five weapons: Handgun, Shotgun, R...

Before The New Order, there was The Old Blood. While this prequel wasn't that great, at least it sure was interesting. Terror Billy's attempt on overthrowing the Nazis in an alternate WWII sounds very interesting at least. The game can get difficult at points, especially when defeating the beast at the end, but it is otherwise an enjoyable prequel for the most part. You should play this before The New Order.
