@Selona83: @TheHT: Don't worry - though myself and Dourin are going further into the PvP rabbithole, Noob shall always be a PvE guy so at most we'll be a balanced podcast in the future, never a full on PvP show (as I think we have demonstrated thus far)

If anything, I may break off PvP into its own show (assuming someone out there is willing to host and produce : P )

Well cynic....I want to learn pvp. You guys can just be mine and TheHT mentor I guess:P

Also, I hope you understood that I wasent criticising your show. I think its great that you guys are taking your own free time to provide a good discussion for the community to listen to in these podcasts.

PS: Tell Noob he is not alone in his fight for pve! ;)

Hey guys!

Not sure if this belong in the Guild Wars 2 part of the forum. If not. Apologies in advance.

But I guess it does. Since am talking to the community, you guys.

Any special game you guys are playing while waiting for Guild Wars 2?

Reason am asking is that

1. Am insanely bored in the evenings! With no good multilayer game to play atm (my lady is trying to force me to watch her drama shows. So you could say I need a excuse:)

2. Would be nice to get to know the community a bit before launch.

3.Just perhaps give me a tip of any good game

Later guy!

I do not have a CLUE!

That really bothers me! Anyone else feeling like this?

I tried all professions and they all were really fun. Except one(see below) Since I think they have such a great combat system (try 7 years in WoW and you´ll understand why I think this combat system is a revelation from above)

However guys! Anyone here tried a ranger? And have any sound advice

That is the one prof I want to like, but my brief session with one dident give me a lasting impression. My pet got defeated like right away. So I had to keep healing it.

I was fighting 2 lvl higher enemies thou. Did that have a lot to do with it? or was the bets just badly tuned?

This was BWE3 btw.

99% that it was probably just me being bad:)

ToT is a Team Legacy ePeen parade to be honest, Freelancer wowing people with basic economics isn't enough to impress me, they could have summed up his entire point in a sentence rather than making it seem more complicated than it is.

I don't even know why they have more than 2 people on, it's just Bridger and Freelancer talking 99% of the time anyway.

Yeah it kinda is now when you mention it. No disrespect or anything to them. They do a good job and are serious about it. But Vega or Kaiye(spelling?) that seem into pve a bit more dont talk much.

I watched/listen to every single episode of theirs since the start. And the closer it get to launch the more it turned into what you were saying there.

I want to be very careful in uttering criticism. Just because I know I would not do a good job myself in a podcast.

But here is a example: In the episode where they were talking about the crafting/gathering. Instead of just looking from a "fun factor" stand point. Freelancer went on for like 30 min or so how to play the market and all that. I understand that some ppl like that approach to it. I guess what am trying to say is that I feel that everything in that show is about being the best competitive wise to be best prepared for WvW. THus again I really like the relaxed approach "our" guys in Linconcast have

So I guess we have to team up some in game and play some pve then at launch:)

Take care guys:)

Personally I kinda like ToT (less and less thou). But I agree that it can get kinda....well yeah maybe boring as you said, at times. So in my book they are kinda "slipping" more and more every episode for me

They tend to talk 80-90% on WvW, Freelancer manipulating the market and Team Legacy conquering. A lot of hardcore things. Nothing wrong with that ofc. I just feel that they are giving pve less and less time overall. Compare to when the show started.

But again...its a big part of the game, the pvp. So a lot of podcasts will ofc focus on that.

I sometimes wonder if I chosen a good game to "fall in love with", due to heavy pvp in it. But I guess that is why I have a problem "connecting" (in lack of a better word) with a lot of the podcasts, since its their focus

Linconcast have always felt more relaxed to listen to. Even thou you guys ofc want to be as good as you can in pvp. Even thou its a lot of swearing at times you can tell that you guys dont really mean any harm (right:P?)

Again...am probably making no sense here as always guys. Sorry about that

Keep up the good job with the show. Look forward to talking some to you when the game is out :)

PS: I have always been a pve guy myself. Dont get me wrong. I probably love the WvW if I get to play it with some nice ppl/guild:)

@Maystack: That sounds awesome. Then maybe the guild can put up with me some in pvp. I would need some advice for a build thou. That is for sure:)

But yeah, I can totally relate to the stress in pvp in general.

I understand that everyone that plays a Spvp game in this game wants to win so ofc some emotions will come out whatever you do:)

Perfect for my night shift here at work while playing Borderlands (yes I can actually do that nighttime at work;)

When you guys talked about being respectful to each other there in the start. That re-assured me that I chosen a good community for this game.

That being said. I probably would get yelled at if I tag along the guild for some pvp. Since I always been a pve guy. I get to stressed in pvp.

Thou I really like to try it out. With the guild that is.

Thanks again for the show. Always a good listen

@Dourin: Well said

But yeah, as Dark Lord said as well, I realise that he had limited time with the game due to their line of work. to quote Dourin: "hurts his journalistic integrity". That is exactly what I felt it did. Not because am a fanbio of GW2 or anything like that.

I actually have a friend of mine that tried the BWE3. He loves WoW still. And he just said to me after that weekend: "This game is really different from WoW, and thats great that its just not another clone. I just dont think it is for me. But I can really appreciate what Arenanet is trying to do."

Something along those line he said.

that whole post you made there in reply to mine was just in general spot on! Thanks for putting words on what I failed on doing myself. Great post.

I was really worried that I would come across as bashing the giantbombcrew. That is ofc not the case guys as am sure you all understand:)

EDIT: I have to wonder thou. Do you guys think its just a "time thing" for gaming journalist? Or is the MMO space just so niche/have a bad rep

Reason why am asking is that I was listening to the Gamespot UK Podcast about 2 weeks ago. They were going over the upcoming releases for that last half of the year. And they dident even mentioned Guild Wars 2. MMO or not, its a huge game that will, probably, sell several million copies.

I kind of cringe whenever they talk about MMO's in general.

This. Or cooperative games.

Yeah I agree.

I Understand that they are not as into these games and their mechanics. But I remembered when Jeff talked briefly about that Press beta weekend. "Yeah..its like a bit of public quest. Its like warhammer online.....bash my skill...meh logged off"

I got to admit. That severely pissed me off. Everyone have their opinion of course. I respect that. But you talk crap about a game when you played 1 hour of it and know NOTHING about it.

To me that would have been a more proper way to word it

I know I know! I shouldent take it to seriously what they say on the podcast. Since they just rant and so on.

But I cant help thinking that I would really like some wording like that. They/he(Jeff) are a gaming journalist, if I was that I at least try to but it a bit more informative and professional

Example: "Hey..I see this is different. And I can appreciate that they are trying to do something different here. But it is not for me."

Or: "I havent played enough of this to make a verdict"

Or...something like that. Lousy examples from me guys. But I hope you get my point:)

Sorry for the rant
