Nintendo had 5B cash on hand from back in July. I don't think this is the end of the world though there should be people in Japan really waking up to this kinda news. The world is changing and Nintendo would do well to understand it.
I don't think it's weird you care about the characters in Saints Row. Well ok, I think it's weird but not out of character, I mean heck, you care about the dumb storylines of wrestlers.
Honestly, I'm certain that everyone that didn't like Joel takes games way too seriously. It's fucking video games, not the academy awards. Joel McHale did what Joel McHale does, and watching him put Dewrito Pope on the spot was golden.
Good Lord. You are the exact reason this show continues to exist in it's terrible form.
No, it's people like you trying to force video games to be art. If it weren't for that, people like Joel couldn't shit all over the show and make you look like fools.
You are a complete contradiction, Why are you on a video game website that clearly values games as something more than just meaningless distractions? No wonder the industry can't move forward with people like you in the crowd. You are more harmful than people who casually dismiss games. You seem actively against any form of respect for them. Gross.

In my opinion, his presence made it watchable. I'm so sick of "VIDEO GAMES ARE ART! WE'RE TOTALLY LEGIT!" So it was nice to see someone piss all over that. I don't think gaming needs or deserves a super serious awards show.
The VGAs have never been that. They have always been vapid imitations of the VMAs.
A game like The Last of Us doesn't deserve to be celebrated in a serious manner? I completely disagree.
Are we seriously going to celebrate Video Games as an art form and all of the accomplishments of The Last of Us on the same program that hypes us up over Cranky Kong and impressive leaf effects?
I doubt 12 Years a Slave would have an acceptance speech that entailed the lead actor in character imitating an internet meme. Even the makers of The Last of Us don't take the game industry all that serious. And considering the whol of the VGAs and what that said about game culture, why the fuck should they?
Yeah and that's too bad. I guess we should just keep wallowing in the filth that is the VGX/A though instead of having any aspirations?
"VGX" still isn't what I want out of a televised/streamed/whatevered video game award show, but Joel at least made it watchable.
So many people are posting such hyperbole about Joel and the show in general. "It set video games 15 years back"* "This is why video games aren't taken seriously."
Like...what? Taken seriously by who? Do they even deserve to be taken that seriously? And why do you care? Just play and enjoy games and stop caring about what other assholes think about your hobby.
* It might not be such a bad thing if gaming went back to the way it was 15 years ago.
Surely we can be more introspective and respectful about the medium we enjoy. It has nothing to do with what anyone else thinks.

No, ofcourse not. The entire show should be changed.
