It seems improper to continue this series without Jess. Dan, Jess, and Grubb playing through Sonic was one the the best featurettes last year; and this evolved into a thing where they’d each have to play a bad game—amazing and clever. But when you remove one of the key people (and the only one who can do impressions) it’s just not right. I continue to support GB, but c’mon. You can’t replace an employee with a not-employee and pretend like nothing changed.

I don't think even the layoffs should let Dan get away with not finishing Sonic 06.

Kinda weird how you completely ignored the elephant in the room with the Uncharted PC discussion, which is that they released Uncharted 4 before 1-3. Doesn't make much sense for me to get these games if I have no idea who these characters are and don't know their backstory.

I wouldn't call that the elephant in the room, it's a pretty minor thing, you get enough info about who the characters are in 4 that it doesn't really matter if you've played any previous games or not. There aren't really any plot points that don't make any sense if you haven't played the others.

I think in terms of it not having as much hype as other Sony releases, it's probably just cause it's been a way longer gap between its original release and the PC release compared to the other ports (6 whole years) and this PC version had almost zero fanfare, Sony was completely quiet about it since the first announced then only gave a release date a month before and it came out without that much advertisement, I really only knew when it was coming out because I was going out of my way to check in on the PC port every few weeks.

I really don't like how the members of Giant Bomb are seemingly so supportive of games that mislead players by matching them with bots disguised as humans. I don't understand why so many people are willing to accept the practice without criticizing it or applying any amount of scrutiny to it at all.

What the hell is wrong with matching you against bots? Hell, give me more games that match me with bots disguises as humans, in a lot of cases I would rather be playing against bots rather than actual humans, I miss multiplayer games having bot modes as a standard thing.

@av_gamer: I don't think you can really count RE4 as a horror game, it's pretty much just an action game with some horror elements. The core of it is a fun combat system so it can be that long without feeling too long.

Though there were other games before RE, like the Clock Tower series, the RE series put horror games on the map. And all Resident Evil games are part of the horror genre, not action genre. The only real difference between the first three RE games and RE4 is the camera used. The first three games had fixed cameras, and RE4 has an over the shoulder camera. But all the games had action. The main characters from the first game, Jill and Chris Redfield, are police officers and part of an elite unit. The Silent Hill games, which were Konami's answer to RE also had action. SH2 has the main character using melee and fire arms to kill enemies. You can argue that SH has deeper horror elements, but that is a matter of opinion. The gameplay in RE4 is just way better. Just because a horror game has action, and the gameplay might be fun, doesn't change the genre of that game.

You have games like Outlast and Amnesia, which is based around the protagonist having no weapons and is hiding and running to survive. Some might consider those true horror games.

The first three RE games are much more about horror, survival is much more of a key factor in the, ammo and health items are more scarce, you have to really think about what you're carrying and when, survival and horror is much more center there. RE4 doesn't really have much of that, you very often have a ton of ammo and healing items, it's pretty much entirely just about how well you do at the combat and how well you are at killing enemies, horror is much more in the background there.

I need Dan yelling "Why did it goatsee?" to end up on someone's sound board as soon as possible.

Honestly it'd be pretty hilarious if it turns out that Mario barely ever talks in the Mario movie and they only got Chris Pratt for the star power and so didn't care what he sounds like because he rarely talks.

As far as I'm concerned, basic Oreos might as well not even exist, double stuf Oreos should be the default. The cookie to filling ratio in regular Oreos is way off, you barely taste the filling then, doubles are the only way those tastes actually work together properly.

When this series is over someone needs to make a supercut of every time Dan yells "What is happening?", I imagine it'll be quite lengthy.
