I could buy a fresh PS2 kit for less than €50 but I don't have room for it in my crowded living room, I don't even have an empty power socket for it, no free slots on the mixer for its audio either. And I am allergic to games that perform terribly shitty and I like 1080p. Maybe I'm the target audience. I'm buying.

Most of the too long ones would benefit from planning beforehand, like what the quickerlooker wants to show off and do, and preferably that they know how to do it and show these things off without taking too long. In the case of the XenoChronX QL I put it down to Austin being wet behind the ears in the world of QL making and working with dadjoke Vinny but he's learning quickly, it's cool.
Improvised on the spot QLs when they work out are cool too. COD game QLs showing SP and MP are fine, always doing a good job showing the gmae.
The audience wants to see films starring OVERUSEDACTOR in the role of OVERUSEDACTOR acting like OVERUSEDACTOR so that they can talk about how great OVERUSEDACTOR was.
A proper headset mic will be fine and not pick up center channel or sides unless said channel is too loud, same goes for lavalier mics, but to get "proper" attributes on a mic so that it can manage your situation you either need to spend a good bit on true tried quality or get a "channel-strip" (amplifier, compressor, more for mic and/or instrument) to tune the bad things away. Can't help you on headset/earsets or what channel-strips are available new and at affordable prices, all of my audio equipment comes from mad luck and miraculous deals ($450 RRP mic for $25 from a studio sale).
What I can say is that equipment from Blue is marked up a bit and sells via word of mouth. To get something like the Snowball or any other condenser mic working in your situation you'd need to tune the gain and volume on the mic until it picks up your voice only and never the center channel, and make sure it has a cardoid pickup pattern engaged so it only picks up audio going into its front. You would also have to be close to it, a good solution would be a desk-stand (with a multi-jointed arm) or mic-stand with a boom arm to angle and bring closer towards you, provided the Snowball or similar could be given a mic-cradle to hang around in.
(Remember to run soundchecks by means of recordings rather than trying to listen to yourself in real-time. I'd suggest stores to look at but I live in Europe)
1) Avoid a neckbeard at all costs, decide on a style and trim it accordingly even if it'll take 6-18 months to grow in, behold as respect is earned, or maybe I just look like the religious type Father to people around here.
2) My beard problem is like dandruff. But it's not. It's like auto-exfoliating skin around the hairs. Doesn't itch but it does flake off and has to get pulled out around the hairs or separated in a satisfying but should-be-icky way.
3) Ever wake up and have a bad beard day? My church-burner deathmetal style goatee likes to angle to the left real hard no matter how I sleep.
In movies, viewers come because of names and faces they recognize. In games, it's the series, the studio or the director name that brings the sales.
In movies you can't bring in anybody unless you have earned enough investments, and you do that by landing deals with big names or risking career-suicide through a wild gamble. In games, people are starting to prefer noname voice-actors they've never heard of before and fresh unknown developers are welcomed with open arms.

I'd have loved to have seen a full ethnic crew with or without flawless English for the target audience. Here's a curiosity, remember the 2003 film Bend it Like Beckham? In Europe the marketing focus was on Parminder Nagra's character, her family interactions (oh dear that grandmother) and the time playing soccer, on the other side of the Atlantic I remember full focus on the blonde white Kiera Knightly. Maybe our governments or the EU as a whole should support moviemaking projects sometimes so that we could get some multicultural work done and let new actors and actresses break through?
