What are you singing into? A headset mic? The vocals need to be rerecorded mainly because of popping, hissing, and overall lack of clarity, which could be solved with a REAL mic. And pull back the vocals. It doesn't sit inside the song. It sounds like karaoke and you just pop in and out, not connected to the song at all.
Everything is off. The drums and bass are supposed to keep the beat and anchor the song. Wherever, those go the song goes. It needs to be remixed. When there are less instruments, the bass should and drums should be louder. Things that are new or intriguing should be louder or panned somewhere interesting. Song dynamics could really help.
It started out great. Then after 3 seconds, it jumped off a cliff.
Songwriting and recording is just like playing. It takes practice. And you need lots of it. The best way to get better is really listen to similar songs and really listen to how the instruments come in and out, and really listen to how the song is structured. Then try to copy it and copy it and copy it til it sounds like you want it to sound.
You've got something there. Now all you need to do is make everyone else understand it, which is the hardest part of songwriting and requires the most work. If no one else understands it, then you're basically just singing to yourself. But once someone does, you've got a song going.
As for me, I have no clue where the song was going and don't understand it. So keep working on it.
