I can see E3 becoming a public demonstration of games, particularly if companies continue the trend of pulling out of media conferences. It makes a certain sort of sense to transition it from a media thing to a public demonstrative and celebratory thing - it should still keep the numbers up, vendors would get foot traffic, and we'd still get a centralized game thing each year. Makes sense.

I had to drop Abyss Odyssey fast because of that combat scheme. It felt sticky in a way I can't quite pin down, like it was both stiff and a little bit unresponsive, though that's not quite right. It... hm. It needed to be looser, if that makes sense. More fluid. I don't know. That game had a bunch of great ideas but the execution disappointed me.

@elixirbronze:I'd be much more liable to take that as "evidence" if the writer took as much time to examine the shittier comments she received as the ones he's cherry picked from her. It's fun how that works, isn't it? We single out the things we don't like so we can justify our shitty behavior, all so we can keep burying our heads in the sand and ignore the fact that we're at fault. And that's not just a comment on Internet harassment, but humanity as a whole. We love to justify our prejudices and biases with the old, "But he/she said THIS so people doing THAT have reasons!"

Justifying people's crappy behavior is never okay. It's not. Trying to find some weird way to lawyer it so Rapp looks like... whatever the hell that article was trying to make her look like doesn't somehow justify Internet harassment. I repeat - so long as any gamer or person related to the culture of gaming continues to view the harassment of women as funsies, we all need to mature and call them out on their complete and utter horseshit.
