That is no blade job.

...I really don't know what to think. I'd like to think there's no way WWE would've booked that as a non-finish like that, but the thing that makes me think it was a genuine work is that Brock went in and attacked Randy again after he was being attended to by refs and medical. If that wasn't a work and Brock accidentally (or worse yet intentionally) hurt Randy and then still went back in on him, his contract would need to be terminated immediately.

I guess we'll find out. If Orton was legit TKO'd by Lesnar (even by accident) and Lesnar knew it, and he went back in for more, then yes, he should be let go. If it was just Orton selling, then it's not a terrible thing for Lesnar to go back in for heat. Orton was bleeding, but he wasn't going to bleed to death. I think it's all going to come down to what really happened. If Orton was actually knocked out by that elbow, Brock has earned all the trouble that's coming his way.

The real MVP of Summerslam 2016 was Mauro Ranallo. His commentary for Summerslam was absolutely stunning.

There was a point during the Cena/Styles match where you could visibly see him in the background jump out of his seat as he screamed "OMG!" (or something similar). It instantly made me love the dude.

Summerslam was really weird....

Especially from a booking standpoint. WTF was going on with those final two "matches"? Rusev/Reigns seemed like an intentional blow off to save a PPV that was running a little long on time. Lesnar/Orton turned into a shit show after Orton got split wide open. I personally think it was an accident on Lesnar's part, and he knew the match was going to be stopped (it was pretty obvious to me that they weren't going to get Orton's bleeding under control without stitches), and he called an audible to try and give the match something that felt like a satisfying finish. I'd REALLY like to know what the intended finish of that match was because it felt like, to me, they could have been building to a surprise Orton win. It was actually a really compelling match up until the accident.

Either way though, WHY were these two matches booked after the Balor/Rollins match? That one seemed like the obvious main event choice, and ended up being the most solid of the final 3 matches....and WHY book the Flair/Banks match so fucking early in the night, only to have a boring 6 woman tag match so late in the night? It made no god damn sense.

Yeah, Summerslam kind of sucked from top to bottom (besides the previously mentioned Balor/Rollins match, which I thought was a classic).

EDIT: I also thought that Cena/Styles was a hell of a good match and so was Flair/Banks, it was just the super screwy booking that made this show such a clunker.

I didn't even speak about the GLORIOUS Bobby Roode.

I really don't know this dude beyond "he used to wrestle for TNA", but he certainly has the gimmick to go somewhere. His entrance and robe screams Ric Flair and his in-ring style and physique screams HHH. The match was just okay, with Cien doing most of the heavy lifting, but Roode looks like he needs to work on his pacing a little and (I agree) get a better finisher. It needs to be something a little flasher. Something that the crowd can scream "GLORIOUS!" to when they know he's about to hit it. The Glorious Bomb just isn't cutting it.

No surprise, but Takeover has been HOT FUCKING FIRE

And it ends with Nakamura breaking Joe's jaw into a thousand pieces.

Like, no seriously: Did Nakamura just break Joe's jaw? The way they cut away from the ref throwing up the X makes me think it wasn't a work.

I think it was legit, Joe was surrounded by trainers as he walked up the ramp and he seemed completely oblivious to the camera. I hope it's not super serious.

Through all of it though, LOVE Nakamura, but Samoa Joe has really kind of proven his value to WWE to be nearly priceless. Ever since turning heel on Balor and winning the belt, this guy can hang and, most importantly of all, he has a very special gift (as a heel) that gets me invested in his matches. He has a very real skill for making the build up to his matches feel like seriously legit fights. The pre-match interviews between Joe, Balor, and now Nakamura have REALLY shown where Joe's wheel house truly is. Even his entrance into the ring tonight was perfect, going directly after Nakamura before the bell (after Nakamura's extended rock concert entrance). I was kind of tepid on Joe when he first came to NXT, but over the last year he's proven himself to be one of the most valuable things WWE has got right now, someone I want to suspend my disbelief with and take seriously. I think a Lesnar v Joe match would be something no one would soon forget.

Overall, liked the show, and the tag match was EASILY the match of the night (The Revival is another team, like Joe, who's value to the future of WWE is almost incalculable).

Put Gargano/Ciampa on that list right the hell now.

I was worried about NXT's roster lacking depth, with all the recent call-ups, this match put those fears to rest.

Watch tonight's CWC.

Behold the Gargano v Ciampa match.

You're welcome.

(personally I think it could be a match of the year contender)

It's probably a 30 day suspension for doping.

Move along, people.
