@Zyte:  ...I can just kite him, especially with sentries? And high templars aren't all that helpful against stalkers since it doesn't stack from what I gathered. Plus how could my immortals even get in range of the colossi with "lance" upgrade equipped? My point was, we're he to go immortals and whatever, I could back him him with colossi and stalks and we could have win...which I though would work better than High templar. What am I not understanding here?

...we were playing 2v2 against a zerg and a protoss as two protoss. Protoss was going heavy colossi/stalker/sentry, zerg was going primarily hydras w/ good amount of roaches. I told my friend I was going colossi (with stalks obviously) and told him to go immortals or voids (since he already had a stargate). He said he was going high templar and zealots...and told me to just go immortals.

Well I thought that was pretty stupid so I kept on doing what I was doing and he did the same and long story short we got stomped. After the game I asked him why he didn't go immortals or just colossi stalk as well and he told me that what he did was better. I tried to tell him that colossi/stalk was the best strat really in that situation and he laughed. We then proceded to argue about why we were personally right and he eventually told me that if I went colossi stalk and he went immortal zealot he would win.

I was like wtf you have no range i'll kick your ass to which he said the hard counter to colossi was immortal and zealots would soak up the damage til he got in range. I laughed and told him I'd just FF his ass, trap his army and start the annihilation and he essential told me I had no idea what I was talking about.

tl;dr he's wrong. and should have gone colossi or immortal. High templars not a good choice in that situation when colossi are equally as effective against the hydras and then are useful against protoss

what i think he is saying is that Bethesda can take more risks than most developers, if someone is unhappy with those risks than they can change it.  Plus unlike say dice, they make their games easy to mod

Perhaps I should have said Elder Scrolls. And you're generalizing it a bit much. It's not so much fucking up as it is modifying it to personal preference, customization if you will.

No the point I was trying to make was that if you didn't like something that bethesda did in terms of visuals, armor, gameplay, the HUD, then there's usually a way around it. Unlike some games. And the people who find their way around it are damn good at what they do, in general of course.

I was just thinking about this the other day and it's that even if they don't get everything right in their games they don't have to worry about displeasing the fans because they know the modders will morph the game to their liking. It's like they have their own auxiliary development team. It's crazy. Most games when you hear about something that you don't want in the game people go apeshit. But whenever you hear something minor go wrong in the Elder Scrolls people just shrug and go, "Mods." Now I know that a lot of other games have mods but the mods for Elder Scrolls are pretty vast, I mean people built an entire new fucking world in one of the vids I saw. It's kind of mind blowing the cult-following this game has.

Well hold on. Really Accessible Doesn't completely mean it's gonna be like hitting a bunny with a shotgun. I think they are going on about the points like the fact that Now weapons are divided into One handed and two handed mastery.  So you can use a one handed sword just as well as a mace, so on and so forth. Also maybe take a little que from Fallout 1 2 3 and New Vegas with having your first stats actually have much more meaning then Oblivion where you had to do a  lot of math to maximize your character.
Hey man...hitting a bunny is with a shotgun is a lot harder than it looks
