It's going to be because of the fat mandatory installs for some games. Go to the game tab in the XMB and go up to 'game utility' (or something like that). You'll be able to delete them, so pick the games you play least.
I absolutely hated the drowning countdown music in Sonic 2. There was a period where I stopped playing when I got to Chemical Plant Zone and just replayed the first level. Also in Streets of Rage 2, towards the end of the amusement park level where you go into the alien section. The music and the bubbly sounds you would hear coming from the mini boss freaked me out.
The one thing I remember most is near the end of MGS2 when the AI is fucking up.
The image of the skeletal, eyeless colonel freaked me out for a good while back then.
EDIT: Also in Snake Eater, during the fight with the End, having him sneak up behind me while I was trying to scope him out in first person mode and shooting me in the back made me completely paranoid for the rest of that fight.
I've been doing Java at my uni since last September, but recently I just finished an xna game for one of my classes. It was pretty easy to jump over to C#, though to be honest i didn't need to go too much into it. I ended up looking more at the xna libraries then general C# stuff. It seemed nice on the surface anyway. I do want to learn C++ at some point, though it seems a little daunting at the moment.
