@tartyron: This is one of the strangest takes I’ve ever seen…People have kids every day, it’s normal. They don’t just stop doing their job and 99% of people don’t have the luxury of a remote position with the flexibility of doing what they do at GB.

Regardless, that conversation is veering pretty far beyond the point of the thread. No one in here is “sharpening knives” demanding shit. It’s a civil conversation asking for some official explanation into the changes we’ve seen and if there’s a new direction going forward. As a paying customer to a service that’s not an unreasonable expectation at all.

What’s going in in the personal life of a staff member should not at all have anything to do with that question or the official site response (if we get one). This site is more than just 1 person, it’s not like its a small team Patreon. It’s owned by a multi-billion dollar media conglomerate after all.

If you’ve already cancelled your sub and don’t care what happens next then fine…but it doesn’t make anyone else’s concern or question in here any less valid.

An archive of aging content you can only rewatch so many times before you’re done with it isn’t exactly a good selling point if that’s all your subscription offers anymore. I understand why people would say that’s “enough” for them to keep a sub for now…to a certain extent, but that’s not a healthy business model and judging solely on the sentiment of this thread it’s not enough for the vast majority of even people that have had subs for several years.

@sjqpersonal: if you want an actual response from Jeff you need to use…Tumblr.

It's telling that the staff response to this is just silence. I guess it's fine to play "head in the sand" while people are asking about what they're getting for their money. Communication from GB has never been great but this is beyond ridiculous at this point.

@ramone: Bombcasts are free and uploaded to YouTube in video form. Premium only gets you UPF now.

I think people are conflating things here...the purpose of the thread isn't that they aren't in an office anymore. It's that there's been no communication as to why Premium gets you almost nothing anymore.

I asked pretty much the same question last week and got no staff response. It's unfortunate because I don't think it's an inappropriate question to ask what the subscription gets you these days. Because it's absolutely changed and hasn't been communicated.

@finaldasa: that doesn’t really explain the full question. Premium shows are going up on YouTube for free even though you still need premium to watch the upload here. Silent Hills for example, or the bombcast VODs, the latest playdate, etc.

@av_gamer: Silent Hills goes up on YouTube even though you need premium to watch it on the site. The most recent one was even streamed on Twitch. UPF has been on Twitch recently as well but that seems to have been a one time thing. UPF seems to be the only premium video content now.

Perhaps this isn't the right avenue to approach this, and I don't mean to be rude, but I'm just curious if we could get an update on the general strategy of what we should expect going forward in terms of premium video content? It seems all of the once premium shows are now just going up on YouTube (GrubbSnax, Very Online Show, Voicemail Dump Truck, Silent Hill, video Bombcast, etc.), and UPF seems like the only thing we get now and even that has been streaming on Twitch.

Even if UPF on Twitch had to do with internal video player changes, it seems the strategy is shifting toward everything but that just going up for free on YouTube. I'm not trying to say what is or isn't worth the price of premium, I'm really just asking for an update on what the subscription gets us if possible - because it seems like that's changed and hasn't been communicated.
