I wish VR studios would stop it with the BS "we need to create entire new control schemes" spiel . VR is supplemental, not a whole new thing. It's 3d TV that's immersive with track IR built in. I say this as someone with an Oculus dev kit. Half Life 2 is (and other first person games too) amazing with regular controls on VR. A thumbstick (or even Mouse and keyboard) are perfectly adequate for VR games. This need to force Kinect/Wii like movement is what will kill VR, using a regular controller won't.

That said I can see how a Move COULD add an interesting mechanic to old style games. For example, a FPS where turning your head only allows you to look around (instead of aiming) and using the move to aim the weapon allowing you to shoot to the right while glancing to your left to see if anyone is coming. The motion controls should be supplemental, not replacing the old. Use the Move's analog stick for movement because you're not going to convince people to lean to move. It's not natural despite their claims that it is.

I'm still disappointed that they apparently skipped Bloodlines, mostly because even if they go back to it they'll likely be disappointing because Rondo of Blood IS better so it'll be like taking a step back. Bloodlines IS an amazing game though with great music...

I'd really love if they did Castlevania Bloodlines next... it's a sorely underrated Castlevania game with brilliant music.

I think part of this opinion may also come from the fact that emulated Genesis sound chips sound baaaaad, and the majority of Youtube videos from which a person in the modern age would use to seek out Genesis tunes are just emu rips.

I get what you're saying and agree to a certain extent but when I say it's painful I'm speaking as someone who grew up with both (The Genesis being mine and the SNES my grandmother's which I had to go next door to play). I also still own a Genesis, SNES and a Nomad... It's exacerbated by poor emulation (God that Sonic's Genesis collection makes me want to gouge my ears out even on some stuff I like) but it's just painful to hear a fairly decent portion of Genesis soundtracks, even on native hardware.

They're both capable of amazing stuff... Maybe it was just the SNES was easier to program for or that Midi was used so much more in the west thanks to the popularity of PCs that it made it easier for western composers? I don't know because I'm not knowledgeable enough on such things...

I definitely disagree about the Genesis sound chip... Could people make great stuff? Fuck yes, Yuzo Koshiro, Michiru Yamane and Masato Nakamura performed miracles on that chip. However some people, mostly western composers made just painful soundtracks, ones that actually hurt your ears to listen to.

The SNES on the other hand not only had more great soundtracks come from it but there's not really anything that hurts to listen to, at it's worst a bad SNES soundtrack is just boring.

That said I look forward to them playing Bloodlines because that game is awesome and the soundtrack is easily the best of the pre-SOTN soundtracks.
