Oh shoot, I forgot to play Octopath Traveler, Spider-man, and Dragon Ball FighterZ

I didn't know what games to buy anymore. I did remember seeing those games and liking what they had.

Awesome list, Finaldasa! I should really venture out my comfort zone and play more western games. I remember you mention games like Mass Effect. I was really unfamiliar with those games on Twitter.

Haven't been on Giant Bomb for a long time. Thanks to DocHaus, the folks at Anime Vice for the help, the Gdocs for voting wouldn't be completed.

If you have any questions, let DocHaus or myself know. I haven't fill out the rest of FAll 2018 companies. That's just for data and for anyone who was searching for anime entries by company. I know there are folks who only vote for Shaft or a specific studio created anime in the community.

Looking forward to the results! (I think I missed last year's results. I did vote for sure)

Yeah, both Giant Bomb and Anime Vice's best anime of 2017 was My Hero Academia. That is a cool coincidence.

to anyone in Giant Bomb who reads manga and see the manga section of the Gdocs. I know DocHaus is only doing anime in Giant Bomb. If you like to vote for manga and don't mind if it's a different community (Albeit, Giant Bomb and Anime Vice were sister sites befre 2013), I welcome you guys and gals to Anime Vice Boards.

DocHaus and I are working our best to find out the best anime in both communities. It's a lot of work.

I forgot how to reply in this site. To used to BBCODE.

@mezmero:

If you have trouble, you can always vote for one title.

@lentfilms:

DocHaus answered your question. I just wanted to add more clarification

Netflix tends to release their anime series a bit late. That's part of the issue with their simulcast because unlike Devilman Crybaby, most of them have a TV broadcast.

The gdocs are based on the Japanese TV broadcast dates so think of MyAnimeList. Any shows came from their database.

edit:

That's why Kakegurui isn't listed on the Gdocs

https://myanimelist.net/anime/34933/Kakegurui

it's a 2017 anime series. Its 2nd season airs in January 2019.

Pretty sure Persona 5 counts. I don't know if it's the norm for Japanese games to be released with a 1 or 2 year delay for western audiences

Wow, I was going to put Valkyria Revolution even though most people hated it. I thought it was good but flawed.

My favorite Zelda was Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Skyward Sword

Late to the game. I was following your Twitter, DocHaus, but I guess I didn't do a good job plus I had to extend the voting period back in Anime Vice. Been so busy trying to get votes assertively. 67 voters in Giant Bomb - that's pretty great. I wish I can get at least 40 folks back in AV to vote.

I haven't been in Giant Bomb lately so I don't know the general anime demographics. I do know Giant Bomb doesn't have a battle forum like Anime Vice so that means Shonen and Seinen shows with lots of action and power levels aren't as favored highly in Giant Bomb. And for some reason, we have a high intake of ecchi fans in Anime Vice. I'm not too sure about Giant Bomb's sex drive for ecchi shows. It seems both communities have a huge drive for ecchi considering KonoSuba and Keijo made it in the top 10.

Surprised Flip Flappers was #1. I thought My Hero Academia, Mob Psycho 100, or ERASED will be #1 in Giant Bomb going by general hype in various anime news outlets and social media excluding Yuri on Ice which is popular on social media but most sites I seen except Crunchyroll (I think. Correct me if I'm wrong) don't put Yuri on Ice as #1.

I do admired your blog as you have a fun, comedic writing. It's an entertaining read. I possess no talent for humor. I don't even try it.

Reading the rules right now:

This includes like rereleases, new ports, or remasters that came out in 2016?

Example: Danganronpa for Steam

@zombiepie:

You're right. There wasn't a lot of hype for the fall 2016 season compared to Winter and Spring.

Heavy Hitters (1st Part of Year): ERASED (had mixed results but had a lot press attention), KonoSuba, Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash, Re:ZERO, Kabaneri (also mixed w/ fans), My Hero Academia, Kiznaiver

Heavy Hitters (2nd Part of Year): Yuri on Ice (social media mostly), Keijo, Drifters, Haikyu, Food Wars

Let me or DocHaus know if there is anything missing on the Gdocs, folks. I'm online almost every day at Anime Vice and Twitter or have questions about the validity of one entry on the Gdocs.
