This year is the year I finally put in the effort to play and finish Witcher 3. I'm bringing my PS4 on the road with me and knocking it out a few hours at a time every night.

Titus was a really good sitcom based on Christopher Titus' stand-up routine, which itself was ostensibly based on his dysfunctional upbringing. I kick myself for not buying the DVD box set before it went out of print.

My personal record is something like 30 hours straight, renting Chrono Trigger from the local Tan 'n Tapes on a Friday and resolving to finish it before I had to return it on Sunday. I probably took a few weeks off of my young life that weekend and I didn't even finish the game (stupid final boss and its bait-and-switch bullshit). To top it off someone overwrote my save before I could rent it again, the bastard.

It was some WWF game in the arcade. I remember being really hype because Hulk Hogan was playable. Times have really changed!

Without logic puzzle games, games with logic puzzles in them, and especially that PS1 version of the GameShark that let you search for your own cheat codes, I probably wouldn't have gone into my line of work. From a young age I was an avid problem solver and I have video games to thank for it.

I got bored enough earlier this year that I went back and played through the first two Dragon Warrior games on the NES. I also spent some time with Planescape: Torment for the first time, just in time for my hard drive to crash and erase my saves roughly 10 hours in. I'll try it again someday, though.

Terminal Redux by Vektor gets my vote. It single-handedly made me a fan of the band despite never having heard of them before. I don't think I've taken the CD out of my car stereo since it was released.

I really wish I could give the honor to Transcendence by Devin Townsend but aside from a handful of tracks I found myself bored with it, including the bonus disc. I really did like the previous album a lot more.

I also wish I could say that the new Metallica album was my favorite but it's about 40 minutes too long. If they had made a single-album release consisting of trimmed-down versions of the tracks on the first disc and Spit Out The Bone I might have reconsidered it.

Warren has seen the end. No one was spared, not even the children.
