Why don't you take a break from 'military FPS's' all together? Try something new?
Like Batman: Arkham City, Skyrim or Uncharted 3?
Even though they're two totally different games you might be bored of military shooters in general. Playing Battlefield 3 will likely be a bad idea however, because it plays a lot slower than CoD. You'll likely hate it after playing a ton of CoD.
As much as it pains me to say, stick with MW3 if your not willing to try something completely different. But I personally think you go ahead and try something different.
Nice guide :) You covered most of the important stuff.
dunno, if this has been mentioned however (I can't be bothered sifting through all the other posts) but NEVER aim with the 'Sawn-Off'. Always fire from the Hip, aiming takes too much time when your in some dudes face and aiming down your sights encourages you to fire from a longer range. Which isn't how your supposed to use the Sawn-Off.
If you miss your shot with the Sawn-Off then roll back and switch to your Retro, then take down your enemy.
Also, though it's considered 'cheap', learning to mash the 'B' button can be the difference between life and death. Being a melee whore has saved me numerous times and at the end of the day, it's still a kill.
I personally think GoW2 was the worst campaign of the Gears games. The story was badly written and suffered from the whole '2nd story in a trilogy' syndrome where the plot doesn't really advance. You also spent too much of that game in the Underground, it lacked the variety that GoW3 or even GoW1 had. I felt like the game also lacked the novel concepts that there first game had such as 'Berserkers' or the 'Kryll' (granted GoW3 also lacked some of these novel enemies) The boss encounter with 'Skorge' was also incredibly disappointing, especially based on all the hype that Epic made about the boss.
I think GoW3 is head and shoulders above GoW2 in terms of Campaign (though GoW3 also has much better MP and Horde modes than GoW2)
I've only bought the Pink Skin and Rainbow Skin with some spare MS points I had on my account. But I won't actively be purchasing MS points to invest in the skins, in fact I doubt I'll be buying anymore. The pricing is absurd, especially if you plan on purchasing them all (which is silly because you can only have 5 equipped, only 2 of which appear during gameplay)
