My advice would be getting the pyro hand. and leveling it to 13 or something like that. After you've done that join the chaos covenant and use the chaos fireball, takes off about 50% of the fast dude (ormstein i believe). That should be sufficient to killing them both.

I would advice against going for killing smough first on the initial playthough, you can always come back.

or just level your SL more for the resistance :-P I was level 56 or something when i fought THEM*. I was also something like 50 hours in I believe :-P

I have a Halberd +10 now, and I'm actually doing similar damage per hit, but the halberd is quicker and has range. I think I'm just too impatient to use a slower weapon that leaves me open, I always just want to go for it and end up getting spanked.

you should upgrade it to 15 or to 5+ lightning. makes it into a beast. also I changed to greatsword of athoris (the wolfsword) half way through my second play through. it's amazing. it's the best sword in the game, check it out. it's I think it's 35str/27dex/20int/20faith though so get ready to grind a lot.

I'm soloing all of the bosses myself....and i'm currently stuck, so any advice for beating ornisten and smough (speicifically smough first)?

what are you specced as?

what level? and stats?

I finished the entire game solo. It's not that hard actually.... the only hard boss in that game is gwyn, if you have low fire resist or can't counter. aka me.

Never had a phantom help me, not once :D

yepp, though you can't join the darkmon covenant. since she's just an illusion created by her brother, leader of it. you also have to fight the firekeeper, and it turns all dark since you've removed the last light of anor lodan.
