I have refused to watch any videos with Dan in them for awhile and so far my decision is paying off. Means I miss out on a lot of GBE content but also don't get extremely mad and upset at a video game website as much, so that's a win for me.
Dan is more than allowed to his own opinions on Walmart and its work practices but it's not something I feel super great supporting as a premium member. Will not be renewing.
It's one thing to be grateful for the things Walmart provides at a cheap cost, it's another to be in an influential position like Dan's and to willfully ignore the bigger picture and to double down on "but from a CONSUMER's perspective..." how great a company they are.
This is a serious low point in my relationship with the site.
You're not alone. Sometimes I genuinely wonder why I listen to this podcast anymore when it makes me so upset. On a good day I can handle Dan's schtick, but some days I think it's going to kill me.
Cannot stand it when games are like 'you can do it two ways!' and then are clearly going to punish you somehow for doing it one of those two ways, specifically thinking about the stealth vs shoot everyone option. I feel like it's the game dev equivalent of 'you're doing it wrong' or 'you can play this way if you suck.' I'm like Vinny as soon as the game is like 'killing people is bad' I immediately feel pressure not to.
At one point they got killed by a streamer I recognized. In case you want to see the Murder Squad get murdered from another perspective. It's pretty funny.

I was wondering how someone killed Vinny with a crossbow when he was on a staircase with Dan behind him and the only other visible guy had a pistol.
It's amazing every time they all get stuck trying to use the door at once, 3 Stooges-style.
As much as everyone is ragging on Vinny for the teamkill, I think that bit where someone shot them point blank with a crossbow and then punched everyone to death is actually much more embarrassing. The streamer you linked didn't even seem eSports-plays-PUBG-all-day, but he and his team just played adequately and that was more than enough to wipe the remainder of the GB squad.
The GB guys tunnel vision SO MUCH while playing this game, focusing on where they think the one enemy they know about is, and not looking around to check if they're getting flanked by the rest of the squad.
I don't really expect this to change, but I still tune in for the shenanigans.
These guys clearly jacked up the settings to make the game easier...that's probably a thing that should be fixed.
