I love it when Jeff starts talking about the human touch of older shows like this, because I completely agree. Hand-painted CELs have always evoked the look & feel of manga way more to me than the super-crisp digital linework of modern animation. I also guess I've just always liked the way traditional art looks better than digital art.
I don't see what they're talking about with the scrolling whatsoever. It looks fine to me. I wonder if it might've been their feed or something while they were recording.
Whoa! Abby's mention of Jay's Famous Hot Dogs threw me for a loop because that place is pretty close to where I live and despite their name, I didn't think anybody outside of this area actually knew about them. That was a deep cut @ybbaaabby! (Also, yes, their fries are really great.)
How about Nintendo just release a Star Fox 2 SNES cart? Sure, it might be a niche market, but there's clearly demand for it, and people still own SNES consoles.
It's unheard of for a major video game company to do such a thing, but... maybe it shouldn't be so uncommon?
Obviously these video game companies want to put most of their weight into their latest console... but all of these old consoles still exist, and they're all so unique in terms of hardware, so it'd be interesting to see more games released for them in an official capacity, not just little homebrew projects. Perhaps this could be the start of such a thing? And even if it isn't... Star Fox 2 still deserves such a treatment, even if it's a small run of carts.
Oh, hey! I never realized that opening animation in Sonic Mania had different audio if you let it loop a second time.
Honestly, I like the version with the sound effects better. The music is better too. I don't know why they bothered to put the trailer version in there, or at least... I don't get why they put it first. If the second version played first, it'd be so much more hype.
I'm also curious now what happens if you let it loop a third time...
I was scrolling through and quickly read that as Breaking Brad: Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
After seeing his performance here, I feel like that would not be much fun for Brad. It'd be great content, though. It could also potentially be the first Breaking Brad that actually breaks him?
