I have to agree about The Babadook. It's in no way terrible, I agree (sort of) about the idea and the actual composition of the film is good. People talk about liking the underlying themes, but I would argue that the film hits you over the head with the themes so much they are front and centre and not particularly imaginative. Also, I thought keeping the Babadook in the basement as resolution was just hilarious, but immensely unsatisfying.

Got the 50 pack pre-order and 10 packs with gold. Got 3 legendaries; The Skeleton Knight and 2 Mistacaller's, 11 Lowly Squires, and 10 Demonfuses. Everything else was underwhelming... Though I play Priest mostly, so this whole expansion is kinda lame for Priests. I was hoping to get most of an Inspire Mage deck, because shenanigans. I've got a lot of dust, so am trying to think of Legendaries to craft. What is everyone's top legendaries from this expansion?

I'm teaching in Japan and I talked with one of my students about moral in Japanese workplaces. A conversation about reassigning of workers, even of a higher level, came up the other day. He said that this type of practice is not uncommon. He's in a senior position at his job and said that firing/ laying off people outright is not popular with most companies, so they decide to reassign people to low level jobs in order to decrease their moral and have them subsequently quit.

@roomrunner: Shout out for the appreciation of the new Foals material. I'm stoked for the new album and to see if they can tighten up their game and deliver a solid album. Personally I loved most of their work, but from a critical stand point there have been duds on the previous records.

In terms of contribution to the topic: Really digging Tame Impala - Currents at the moment. The previous 2 albums were jammed with psych rock loveliness, but the new album goes in a new but natural direction. Parker's meticulousness continues to astonish me.

Kurt Vile - Pretty Pimpin is a solid outing. Lyrically Vile is back on the theme of being adrift, with sweet guitar picking, and a solid drive throughout this track.

I have to just gleam for a moment, my three favourite modern artists (Foals, Kurt Vile, Tame Impala) are realsing/ have released records this year, so I am pretty stoked. Hope everyone else is getting as much musical goodness this year.

@twisted: I was also confused by that... quick google showed that ROH are releasing a figure of Kevin Steen (Owens). I'm guessing cianyx means that?

It's nice to see it's addressing maybe the largest criticism of 'Man of Steel'. In retrospect, it could change some opinions if it's a part of a larger story arc.

I kind of feel like there is too much going on though. Superman and Batman are huge characters and they are setting up a story that pits them together, but from the trailer you're also introducing Wonder Woman, Lex Luger, Joker teases, and Superman Soldiers? It might just be the editing, but it was feeling a bit bloated and overwhelming.

Anyway, I am really happy to see a movie not just progressing a story in a paced manner. It looks like they are really trying to make a leap here to give us one hell of a show.

I think it is genuinely awesome that people can defend and make cases for any of the 4 Metal Gear Solid games being the best and have it accepted. At least that is the impression I get.

To Metal Gear!

@dizzyhippos: Ah nuts. I was enjoying pretty much all of Rollins and then they changed this. Is this a Sarcastaball situation? The Phoenix splash could be a good finisher for when he is a face I guess?

I'm trying to think of what the actual good finishers are in the WWE right now? The F5, Bryan's running knee, The Coup de Grace, RKO, The Red Arrow, The Accolade and (personally I'm cool with) the Brogue Kick. Maybe I'm looking at it too much, finishers have had a pretty lame history.

I've read over some of the comments about Seth Rollins' curb stomp not being used anymore but am still a touch confused. What happened? Why has it suddenly been pulled? Is it a similar situation to Orton's punt kick? In the grand scheme of things it is only a finisher, but man was it one of the best new finishers I have seen for a while. It is a bummer if he won't use it anymore. I read on WrestlingInc. it isn't banned but he will use the facebuster DDT going forward.

It's stock goes up for me by being a major part of my childhood. The prequels were released when I was young and I loved them, but I can't say I have watched them again since getting older, nor do I have any desire to. I recently gave away all of my Star Wars action figures, which certainly made me realise how crazy I was about it.

I think the series gets a bad rep due to overexposure. Like most things we see and hear too much of, it irritates us and impacts our view of it.
