I can see where the people who like it are coming from though, as the things that seem good about it are some of the things I like about Majora's Mask for example. It's just that the activities are less interesting to me here.
@memu: I see what you are saying, but this is also a site that gave Stardew Valley and MGS5 five stars. There's something to say for a game that knows not to overstay its welcome. Not every game has mechanics robust enough for a massively long experience. I'd even say that a lot of games that actually attempt that don't have mechanics that carry it, but that's up to opinion.
The point is that it's surfaced pretty clearly in the quick look that it's a short game, and thus it should be judged on those merits. Saying stuff like what you said about reviewers just wanting to play through all their work so they can get on with the next thing seems needlessly inflammatory honestly.
Yung Kafka staying on brand with those metamophosis potions.
Game looks really good. I got real spoiled with the battle system in Muramasa and couldn't really go back to Odin Sphere after that. This will probably make me try it again.
@amotter: Lazy in this context clearly doesn't mean the time and art assets that went into the skin. I think it was more about the laziness of not having a cohesive whole to it, regarding the different tribes and such.
The real problem I have was mentioned earlier regarding Austin's assertion that Blizzard needed to question themselves internally to such ludicrous degrees. Acting like an armchair art designer and ponder over how "concerning" aesthetics are is infuriating.
Also this. Yo dog, this is what a critic does. I don't really know how or why you expect a critic to do something else. The key difference is that he does not work for Blizzard and thus doesn't have the power to change anything.
You can agree or disagree with how well thought-out the critisism was in this case but this whole attitude is baffling to me.
I liked the episode a lot. This is still my favourite piece of content on the site.
That talk about age in emails was some really good shit.
Apart from in some more controversial topics the "My two favourite people have to be in this QL" was my least favourite shit on this site. I'm glad it's winded down a bit.
@weapongod30: Yo dog. This is not people calling you out as a specific threat, It's saying enough men are threats for you to be considered a potential one. It's saying that women have a right to keep a distance if they want to, because you just don't know.
Unfortunately it's gonna take a societal and cultural change for that to be less true.
