Echoing the sentiment of being really thankful for you doing this on your vacation. It really helps to have more stuff to listen to when being stuck inside for one reason or another.
I also think this is a really important podcast, and something the site kind of needs. I love the GOTY deliberations, but listening to that much content of arguing over placements and trying to suppress urges of feeling like you want to be there to argue for your favourite game can sometimes feel a bit negative.
Having this podcast being a foil to that negative mood is actually really cool. Also, it's nothing that bothers me much, but hearing people say that the GOTY lists (in particular the site wide ones,) don't nessecarily always end up as everyone wanted helps quell those feelings of "No guys this is obviously the best game!" that I know are crazy, but happen anyway. It's can sometimes be easy to forget that the disembodied voices you listen to for ages are attached to humans whose opinions you should respect.
On a far dumber note, Austin's food bed was meme of the year 2015 with a bullet, and I really thought that stupid urge to hear that would be validated before the last syllable of "I've been sleeping on a futon".
I look forward to all the stuff coming out of GBEast in 2016!
Yeah this is a super good list. Makes me happy that some of the games here got the exposure they deserved, even if I might not totally agree with the placings. You've definitely convinced me I need to get ahold of Invisible.Inc though.
It'll be nice to have another tactics game to play waiting for XCOM 2.
@mikelemmer: To add to that, there's so many great games requiring much less rules lawyering and knowledge, and much more condusive to roleplay. I'd take more tabletop stuff anywhere
Yo I had no idea this would be what Yakuza games were. It's so weird and I looooove it.
Also that Initial D-ass driving scene was pretty cool. I'm with Austin though in that I'd totally play a game about safe driving if it was good enough at giving me points.
