Right game, wrong console. 100% chance! I really feel for any kids who wanted PS4 games and got PS3 versions.

Not 100% sure on the technical aspects of your question, but if you're in the market for a TV you need to check out https://www.rtings.com/. They have an extremely in-depth testing process that will blow your mind, but they also present the data in simple terms and explain why it matters.

The campaign has some cool moments, but it feels like it had a lot of content cut out of it before launch. I enjoyed it for what it was, but I am pretty happy to be done with it.

The multiplayer has been fantastic so far in terms of actual gameplay, the maps have a good variety of close and long rage encounters that reward different playstyles and there are generally a lot of different paths to objectives, which makes the occasional chokepoint feel hectic and fun.

Obviously with the whole progression system being tied to lootboxes it needs to be overhauled, especially once you clear out the initial one-time challenges that give you currency and are stuck grinding slowly. I will say that by about 8 hours of multiplayer in, I had unlocked the base level of every ability I was interested in on all the standard classes, and obviously I was able to kit out the classes I played the most (Heavy and Sniper) much quicker than that.

Probably my biggest complaint with the multiplayer right now is that the abilities/equipment available just aren't that interesting or varied. There are only 3 upgrades per weapon and what they do is set per gun, so you just grind those out and hope they're things you like. The abilities are generally just 3 flavours of the same ability (The fast sentry gun, the slower sentry gun, the super slow sentry gun) and they kind of feel like a cop-out to making actual different abilities. Hopefully they add more variety in the future.

FUCKING HYPE!!!

Really looking forward to this game. I've been a Monster Hunter fan from the beginning back on the PS2, and I have bought consoles just to play the new versions of the game as they came out. Looking forward to finally playing a true sequel to Monster Hunter, and on the PS4 to boot!

I'm sure some people on here with more free time on their hands will set up the groups and/or Discord channel for this, but anyone who is looking for someone to play with them hit me up, my PSN is Xeiphyer.

As for anyone new or curious about giving this a try, I hope you'll give it a chance with some GB folks as well! Monster Hunter is the most fun when you're playing with some other people and working together!

This poll is biased! What y'all don't realize is that lootboxes ARE microtransactions!

But seriously, if you really don't like lootboxes probably just stop buying them. They're being included in every game now because of how insanely profitable they are. I know everyone is dogpiling on the lootbox circlejerk right now - and with good reason I might add, but these companies are getting millions of extra dollars with very little impact on sales, and unless that starts to change this is just going to keep happening. Vote with your wallet instead of crying on the internet about it and then buying Battlefront 2. Its the equivalent of "liking" a facebook post about an issue and then thinking you actually did something.

As for this poll, I think Story based DLC is probably the worst of the bunch. Locking story away behind a paywall sucks, especially when it was likely cut from the original game. Assassins Creed 2, Mass Effect 3, and Asura's Wrath all were lesser games because story was cut out and sold to you later.

Who would have thought a credits sequence would make me cry! I just had to pay it forward when the game asked me.

Playing the game 3 days early is the main reason for sure.

Consumers have proved that they're willing to buy full price games with microtransactions in them, and that they are willing to spend money on said microtransactions. It makes complete business sense to not leave that money on the table unfortunately.

Hopefully as we have seen with the response to Shadow of War and the Battlefront 2 beta, they will limit the microtransactions on offer to strictly cosmetic changes. I imagine it'll take a few more missteps before we see them shift away from pay-to-win options though.

Also, regarding Battlefront 2 specifically, while obviously selling pay-to-win style upgrades is awful (and they have since stated they are redesigning this before the game comes out, so good on them for listening), I think it is important to at least consider in this specific example that EA/DICE are using the microtransaction profits from the loot crates to fund their Expansions/Map Packs. Personally I find merit in the idea of free map packs in exchange for optional loot boxes containing cosmetic only items. Hopefully other developers can find the right balance in the future, and it isn't just a gross cash grab.

Honestly, Infinite Warfare was the high mark for CoD campaigns for me. I've got no interest in revisiting the world wars still, and whatever interest I did have was spent enjoying Battlefield 1.

Here's hoping for another one of these soon:

Unless you're getting one that doubles as an art tablet for drawing, there isn't really a huge point to it. You're going to pay a premium for the feature and introduce a design complication that gives it another vector to break at.

In my opinion touch screen laptops (usually hand in hand with the fold over screen) are also a pain. You don't want to get your screen all fingerprinty, especially if you have a tablet or something to meet those needs.

Keep it simple and save the money, or reinvest in better specs.
