@nutter: the game is similar but is not those which you listed.
Same topic though, very similar like castlevania, similar graphics, weapons. Similar enemies too - goblins, skeletons, etc. Similar dark theme and music.
Wizards and Warriors had the staff of power. Sword Master let you turn into a wizard or something...
@nutter thank you for your reply, but no, it is not those two.
The game I am searching for looks very similar to castlevania and ghost and goblins as I wrote. And the levels are only side walking - I mean you don't climb much as in Wizards and Warriors.
Most important thing I can remember are the weapons which you get in the different levels - you get throwing knifes, stuff like that.
But the most distinct weapon which I remember is this tiny sphere which stays above the head of the character and it moves along with the character.
And when you shoot with it, it shoots small blue glass-like balls (or bubbles) in front of you.
So, since weeks I am searching for two arcade games from the 80s/90s, which I used to play in my childhood. They are definitely available now, but I can't remember their names, so I hope you guys could help me. What I remember:
Game 1:
It is a side-scrolling 2D game like Castlevania or Ghosts N Goblins. It has very similar dark theme, you go across different levels and collect weapons and spells, and kill bosses at the end of each level. The most distinct thing which I remember from the game - one of the weapons which you get is like a sphere which stays above the head of your character at all times, and this sphere shoots blue balls against the enemies.
Game 2:
It is a side scrolling 2D game as well, and every level is a house (or like plan of a house) in which you jump up and down and our main weapon is a hammer. The opponents are alive clocks and teapots which you hit with the hammer. The boss is usually at the center of the house.
This game is 20 years old, but there are online platforms where you can play it in multiplayer. At any given moment, there are still around 1500 - 2000 players online to choose from.
Some of my favorites, available for 15+ years, which I still enjoy playing today. The other advantage is that they have so low spec, that it will fit any pc/laptop:
