Collectibles are items such as coins, rings, gems, packages etc. that can be gathered, usually for some kind of reward, or sometimes to simply beat a level. Often (almost too often) the source of earning achievements and trophies on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Voice actors don't always get an NPC to represent them. Sometimes voices have no visible speaker.
Frozen water. Ice can be slippery and it can be fun for ice skating.
Rather than utilitarian names like "Level 3" or "Warehouse", many games give each level a unique title that has some relevance to its content.
Games using this concept allow players to reset the situation back to what it was without dying and having to restart. It may be resetting a room, a puzzle, or an encounter, and it can be explained in game terms (a "reset spell" for instance), but it does not involve dying and/or "reloading a save".
These games are designed to be played by one person, and one person only.
A level in which everything is displayed on-screen at once, with no scrolling, flip screen, or 3D movement. Many '80s games consist entirely of single-screen levels.
