Brad enjoys games more that don't require much skill. And every preview I've seen has your man soaking in bullets like nothing. Taking multiple point blank shotgun shots in like they're mosquito bites. So he'll probably like that. Jeff or Ryan might count that against the game, meanwhile.

Hard to say. I can honestly see this game being anywhere from completely amazing, to painfully mediocre.

By looking at the guys achievements, its looks like Jeff will be reviewing it. I'd guess 3/5.

I'm guessing 5, because that game looks super rad, and Brad practically worships John Carmack.

I love the "it's just like fallout hate". That is a genre, so yes they are super similar...I could not be happier about that. The slightly more western feel from aesthetics to soundtrack and character design has me extremely excited. Though I haven't touched it, I watched someone stream is for a good hour and I know I am excited. As for the score, though I know I will love it, I understand the "ti's a bit generic" argument so I will say 4/5.

I'm going to say 5/5. Absolutely no less than a 4/5 for sure. But I can see it going either way.

Damnit Brad is killing time again trolling this wonderful thread instead of writing his review. Anything just to get out of work and jerk the GB community around. I immediatly pm'd Jeff last time he did this and Jeff just laughed at me. They both needs to go back to gamespot for some discipline. Damned Brad!

I'm buying Dark souls, but 5/5. I like to be optimistic and this game's been looking cool.

I am assuming it will be a 4/5; at least I hope so because I pre-ordered and it would be sad if it had some kind of fatal flaw that ruins the game in some way (example: timed gameplay like Dead Rising or not being able to move and shoot in Resident Evil).

Even if something is off maybe the rest of the game will be so polished it won't matter, New Vegas was buggy and weird as hell and I still loved that game. I even really like force unleashed even though it had it's limitations. Either way it still looks beautiful and I love first person "adventure" games where you do more than just shoot the whole time.

Was the dev on Left4Dead trolling you when he said you were basically useless on his team? Or was he just making an honest appraisal. Just because you get mad at honesty doesn't make it trolling. Im glad you could dig through your backlog and find 2 difficult games that you enjoyed but you had to go back about a year and then 7 years, that about says it all. Its okay to like easy games more, dude. Don't get all butthurt.

I'm pretty excited for the game but even leading up to it's release I think you'd be crazy to think it was going to be a 5/5. It's a shooter, a plain ID shooter no matter how much you may have dreamed it otherwise. Honestly I caught myself thinking it would be cool walking around the megatextured world in a fallout style of gameplay, but I never found it hard to understand that this ain't and never was a bethesda open world game even if they published it. They have published a few recent games that weren't open world and this is another one.

I wandered off the first kinda side path in the game and it was kinda a blue color on my map, basically ran through and killed the 2-3 dudes in there and got to a red button that I couldn't press yet. That's the sort of game I actually expected so I wasn't super angry when I got there, I only did that cause I really dug the environment and was sorta being led off by the pretty textures haha, and that's fine :)

I think technically this game deserves high marks, but it's really just a well done but basic ID shooter, and that can't really get you high overall marks with many people these days. They expect something more than just 1 solid core gameplay mechanic, even if it's the shooting. I'd say 4/5 as the GB score but I wouldn't be suprised at a 3/5. but going by the previous reviews, I think it would most likely get the 4/5, even without some things the stuff it has is solid and the pure brute force of the tech in this game should keep it at the 4/5.

@kingzetta: If I use your previous argument I can say that Fallout is nothing more than a Mad Max videogame.

This graphics look great but gameplay looks generic.

Same on this one, Graphics look impressive world looks really nice, however gameplay and plot fail to deliver.

I would not be surprised if The Bradster gave it a 5 despite saying that its realy repetitive and as a weak story in the quicklook.

3/5 based on rumblings of other reviews - sounds like a very pretty game with a punishing save system and generic gameplay.

4/5 for all of the issues they mentioned. 3/5 for me personally i was hoping for a deeper rpg :(

4/5 seems reasonable. Game-play so far seems solid, story seems a bit derivative. However it is ID they are known for game-play/tech not a gripping story.
